gas mileage

I want to purchase a classic mini soon and I was just wondering what they get for gas milage

It is not going to decide if i get a mini or not but I was just wondering I have a 95 ford exploder that i am selling to get the money for my hopefully classic mini and i will be glad to get better gas mileage

The milage varied quite a bit depending on which of the many motors you have: the 1275 Cooper 'S's would get about what a Cooper gets now (30-ish if driven as intended) but the 850's could get better than 50 mpg on a road trip ... displacement, driving style, terrain, - same things that affect milage anywhere ...

My 1275cc gets about 40mph. That is city and highway driving and I usually drive it pretty hard.

Milage

if MPG is a concern my STRONG recommendation is don't buy one. **** poor milage and high test gas is among the low end of my expenses with da Orange Crate.

You need a fair amount of disposable income to support one of these beasts. They are FUN, but in my experience, not cheap.

I ran one tank of 'mid octane' and it took 3 weeks to get rid of back-fire and run-on problems. Back to high test we go.....

Odometer is busted .... I get 2 Sunday drives to about 4 gallons!

but I only have 69999 miles on this car.....

Hmm... If I were buying a Mini to be a daily driver, I'd buy two. One to drive and another one to be in "reserve" if you know what I mean. Chances are when driving one, the other one will need something.

This really applies to any older car, not just Minis.

that is not a bad idea
i could not get another whole car because of money but
a parts car would cut down on costs i'm sure
i will have to look into that
Thanks

On avg 35-45 mpg depending on engine & driving habits. So what if its premium, you're only buying 7 gallons.. OKeefe's experience with one Mini is not the standard. Just be careful in selecting the proper car for your driving conditions & style.
