New Mini Build
Such a shame to see that fug-ugly lucas alternator on that beautiful engine. Do yourself a favor and ditch it and get a new Saturn or GM 1-wire alternator. Then it'd be as purdy as the rest of the engine!
Looking good. The anticipation must be killing you.

We got it set in the car yesterday and mostly hooked up. Today we have to do the header and exhaust, and the injection wiring, then it's fire up time.
nice bit of kit hope it goes well and make sure you prime the oil pump before you try and start it
I'm back home from the Dyno shop. Shad, the owner is a wiz at this. He has a very unique wheel dyno. Instead of clamping the car down on rollers, which puts a lot of pressure on the suspension, his set up attachés directly to the wheel hubs, and is floating, so the axel geometry stays centered, or neutral. This puts a lot less strain on the car, gives a more accurate HP reading, and the whole system is portable, so he can take it to events. He just plugs the ECU into his lap top and sits in the car. He has the screen with the ECU program on the lap top, and the dyno program on a stand. (pictured)
The engine dynoed at 94 wheel HP which is about 120 crank HP.
I'm back home now and have put about a hundred miles on the car. It really runs sweet. Pulls like a son of a gun from 3 grand, drives really smooth, and will disintegrate the tires in 1st gear. The 5 speed straight cut gear box shifts really well. The gears are spaced perfectly, and it's not near as noisy as I thought it might be. You can only hear it in 5th gear.
All in all I am very pleased with the outcome. Next will be just driving it and finishing off the interior.
