It won't be Apple.
Why is it the good always seems to be balanced out by the bad? I just arrived to work to find out we are all being given a 5% cut in our salary for Christmas. Oh joy! I am happy to still have a job but it's really a bad time to be loosing money! Guess that is what you get when you decide to have a child in the middle of the Great Depression 2.0.

Kinda looks like everyone's giving up.
DEAR DIARY,
I have some good news... although I didn't save a bunch of money on my car insurance... I did snag some tickets to go see AC/DC tomorrow night in St. Pete! I've been to lots of concerts but I've never seen AC/DC. The husband has only been to ONE concert... "Fish"?!? And he mentioned something about his friend puking on his car door.
(Oh, I did drag him to a small ZZ Top Concert.) So although the husband is too old to get the ultimate old school concert experience (crappy tickets, trying to sneak backstage, seat switcharoos) I think he will be surprised. Although he did mention he's going to be wearing ear plugs.
For me... I like not being able to hear for a few days! He says, "Don't cry to me when you're 60 and you can't hear."...
. Whatever, mom.I bought my tickets from EBay... so we'll see if we actually get in. Funny... they were a bit more than the FREE Mini! But I did get them for less than face value.
Interesting thing about AC/DC is that it's not a general admission on the floor show and no mass of people will be rushing toward the stage. There are actually chairs for people to sit. I wonder if they will have complimentary walkers for people at the door? I love "Back in Black" as my "Classic Rock"... "Who Made Who" and "For Those About to Rock" was what was popular when I was in high school. "Thunderstruck" = good!
I wonder how many old people will be there?
And... it's on a Sunday Night!
BTW- did anyone else (other than my Cabrio Cohort "Kikimowse") notice the Christmas Tree in the Cooper pictures? I was sharing a festive moment. And "Kikimowse"... the expression on the security guard's face was an unexpected funny surprise that I didn't see until after I got home... but it was perfect. When I read your post about the luggage at the airport it made me laugh. That's exactly how it is! I especially love it since I am a little small girly girl.
Happy Waiting everyone!
Miniola, enjoiy your concert! sounds like you got the "deal of the day" with those. I thought back in 1970something they banned General admission do to the stampeed at The Who concert in Ohio (don't want to show my age)...
so maybe that would explain the seating... and no comment on the walker at the door statement!
I think everyone is so busy with the holidays they don't have time at the moment for "As the MINI turns" but it always picks up later!

"The Who"? Who's that? *cough*... as I smell the BenGay I applied earlier.
In the late '80's we still had some concerts with general admission especially for the floor. After talking with my younger brother today he informed me that he was almost trampled when he went to AC/DC when he was 15. He never told mom about that!
Merry Christmas! (or any other holiday you may celebrate)... Personally, I like Santa best.
Hi guys and gals!!I have been working like a maniac, getting the house ready for my family to visit. They fly in tomorrow from colorado.
Now, everyone, keep the faith, it is still the holiday season and we all know how busy it can be. Gemgirl, you should see the email I received from Holly!! It is a shot of her and Brook holding a sign saying---
Hang on Sloopy!! and they are giving a thumbs up..... hysterical. Holly is a real joy to deal with. While it is hard to wait to go pick her up it is also nice to be so busy with family that it almost doesn't matter.
Well, at least that is what I keep telling myself
Miniola-- have a real rip roaring time at your Sunday night hoot-n-nanny....
skillet, are you asleep over there with visions of orange mini's dancing in your head???

Listen - why not- I go and pick up Sloopy for you and introduce her to Nugget? We can keep her company for you until after new years??
oh yeah- you sign the paper work first!
I can't believe you don't have time to pick her up!
Thanks!

I went to Th Who right after the stampede -here in Philly, i was also told I couldn't go because of the "crazy people" might hurt me.... Well luckly i have a large brother, he is 6'2" (not sure where that came from being Italian),but when the gates opened everyone started to push and shove and me being less then 98 pounds (at the time of course) and 5', all of a sudden i was off the ground and dangling about 6 foot in the air. My brother had grabbed the back of my coat and was shaking me above his head like a rag doll, shouting "don't touch my sister"... He was always my body guard!!!
Great concert!
that is great!!! Is Sloopy on the lot or still traveling? Is Sloopy in the photo?

Add to that- I now have to turn in my current lease over a month early and incur those charges also. So at the very earliest I would get Sloopy right after Christmas,, in fact she won't be prepped and ready til right before Christmas anyway.
I think Nugget needs a girlfriend, go see her!! Oh, and my son is a complete motorhead and modifies 4 wheel drives for off roading ---- my Sloopy would be drove into the ground if he got his hands on her!!
Sloopy is happlily snuggled in with all of the mini's at Otto's!! Holly snapped a camera shot,, and no, not the shot with her and Brook... it isn't the most flattering but I will post it here. She hasn't been cleaned up, no side scuttles yet, all rainy and so on. Well, I doubt there will be time until after Christmas, my son/daughter in law are flying in today with......my grandkids!! Ages 3 and 2. So I really don't think I can drag them all down to a dealership---hahahah I think they are prepped and ready to go to the New Hope Santa's North PoleTrain, and maybe to the Please Touch Museum,,,, can you just see their faces when I pull off into Otto's???

My grandkids are also coming in- ages 2 months and 21 months, their parents, My sister-in-law and others! sounds like we will all have a great, fun, fast, hectic, holiday!
Sorry Sloopy and Nugget will have to meet (hopefully) after the holidays, she is also tucked in. my husband just said "you want to have some fun, let's pull her out of the garage and turn off the DSC.
for anyone that doesn't linve in Eastern PA right now should know we are getting and ice storm
Thanks Gemgirl, I am sure she will look more presentable after she is spruced up, then she will really knock your socks off!! And yes, it wasa very cool to see that SOLD sign in her window! I liked seeing my power mirrors tucked away too.
Re: ice storm, my kinds are departing right now from Co. I sure hope the forecast is correct and it turns to rain soon.

I just found out that the group "Fish" is actually "Phish"... and I just realized why most people prefer to be drunk or high to listen to it.
cabwy- I can't believe that you aren't getting your car for Christmas.
I think you should take your family to go and visit Sloopy at the dealership. I'm sure they would LOVE to see your new baby! Maybe you could get a family picture with it? Hope you have fun with your relatives... know what you mean about getting the house ready... it's lots of work.
gemgirlpa- I have some Icy Hot somewhere but can't "remember" where.
Your story about The Who made me laugh... I could totally picture it. Unfortunately my brother was younger and he was only like 5'7" or so. We were both shrimpies. If you're tall (like 5'1") then maybe being on the floor would be more fun but 5'... no way.
Plus, I don't know about you but being at that height with stinky drunk people is no good. Had enough of that going to clubs... certainly wouldn't want to be there at a concert/mosh pit.
Take care guys. I've got to get ready to go. Hopefully I'll have the rest of my Christmas lights up by Christmas Eve. Last night I finally got my candy cane palms done. I think I've finally got it figured out... good for next year.

elprofe- Where do you come up with this stuff? You crazy!
Just got back home. Can't hear and my voice has lost the lower range so I sound even more girly (if that's possible). What an awesome concert. I only saw one guy with a cane when going in!
I totally rocked out. The group of guys in front of me adopted me into their group so we were all singing as loud as we could. I was the high notes in the background that Brian Johnson couldn't get. Thankfully the husband didn't wear his ear plugs for AC/DC... just the beginner band... whoever they were.
It was funny to see the different people there. The guy on the end was either passed out or asleep? I was figuring someone should check to see if he had a heart attack or something.
Then there was a guy that was in front of us that had the same expression on his face all night... just flat. He stood up with his hands in his pockets (and blocked the view of others) and then near the end of the show he stood there plugging his ears! The guy next to me was all tattooed (which is fine) but he smelled like a really dirty scalp that needed a shampoo... terribly... know what I mean? The weirdest thing was that he hardly even moved. He just sat there and occasionally tapped his finger on his leg.
His demeanor was very unexpected. He smelled bad enough that I actually considered stuffing the earplugs (the unused ones that my husband brought for me) into my nose!
I made the husband ride home with the top down. It was about 65 out. What amazed me was how QUIET the ride was without all that wind noise! Ha! Well, at least I got one more ear damaging concert in before I turn 40!
Sorry, I'm in a silly mood. Time to go wind down and behave. Just passing the time until the FREE Mini comes along.
Good night... if anyone's out there!

Miniola,,, great review!! And I know just the stanky smell you are referring to... that oily hair smell of many days without a bath..ugh
You killed me with your 65 degrees comment. We are a whopping 15 degrees this morning.

Congratulations, Cabwy!!! I like the picture of Sloopy. As of now, no update. I've been really busy getting ready for Christmas and a wedding that my wife did the makeup for... Ugh, it's freeeeezing outside. It was -26 here with windchill over the weekend, and it's currently -13 with windchill... My MINI hates this weather...
Awesome to here about the AC/DC concert. I don't think I'll be going to that one
Last concert I went to was Incubus back in 2002... Well, I'll be sendin Sandy an e-mail today and I'll report when I here back from her
