Where are the fence pics, Cab?? Sounds like a really great project!

I was beating the #$(* out of myself today - hubband's young counsin came over after her homework (she's in the officer's basic course here) and we just kicked BUTTTTTTTTTT on taking down walls. I was at it for almost 7-8hrs, and she came in somewhere along that timeline. I hurt now though. I'm sure tomorrow morning isnt going to be pretty!! I had to rinse & re-soap my big scrub brush at least two or three times, I was SO FILTHY! But the difference is huge, so I'm a happy-ish camper for now!

Did I mention Hal was smak dab in the middle of the panoramic photo from MOTD?? I knew it was him wiht the big yellow "Save the Wave" flag!!!

G'night friends!

I had twins too!! My youngest son is the twin (we lost our other sweet boy at 12 days) They were identical and my surviving son is 6'6" tall, I always wonder if Todd would have been as tall?? Probably so...
Sorry Cab about your twin. I think he would have been just as tall.

So just curious... what is the significance of the RIGHT SI joint?

UHOH- sounds like you did a TON of work. I keep reading about this panoramic shot... how do the rest of us (that couldn't attend the Dragon) could see it?

Oh Gem- nice to see you are still alive. UHOH found a nice "blingin' babe" for you!

Alright... seems like everyone's checked out. Green light's on but nobody's home in the Freebie house. So I'll talk to someone later... maybe. Time to rest my sleepy time gland from the bright light of the computer.

Thanks Hal- I did have a very very very (did I mention very?) happy Birthday

I'll be honest Hal, I have no idea where the Avenue Shopping Center is... But from where I am to Mboro at 96 is about an hour...maybe a tad more as it's 40 minutes to 96 & I-65. Sometimes I can't believe how LARGE this county is...
We won't be able to come out this Saturday, as a friend's son (practically my nephew) is on leave and there's a series of wedding shower type parties for him and his fiance', but maybe another time?
Have you ever been to the Mar's Mansion in Pulaski? Milky Way Farm? It's up on the auction block again, but years ago the mansion itself was open for lunches for special parties... I went there with the Nashville Mercedes Club (I'm a classic MB owner... actually I have 2 MB's, one is 1968, the other 1982...both need tlc). Anyway, I'd love to go back there someday- I'd also love to go to Bell Buckle...
Just some thoughts...

BTW, how long does it take you to get to Murfreesboro, say around the Avenue shopping center area? Deb and I will be there late Saturday afternoon/evening. Wanna try to meet up for supper?

Actually, Cab, it's my left SI joint.
And something I have been dealing with when riding horses, is that I tend to sit heavy in my right hip/leg. Get off balance that way...
but I think my SI has to do with the fact that for 30+ years I had a bum right ankle, and I overcompensated for that ankle by leaning into my left side more (except when I rode horses, for some strange reason- possibly cause the riding position ping-ed my left SI joint?)- my left hamstring also tends to be pretty tight.
I'm glad to be in the company of another Mom of Twins. Yes, I believe your sweet Todd would have been 6'6" especially since he and his brother are identical. I'm sorry Todd is not with you - it's hard to lose your baby, and must have been hard for his brother to grow up a twin, but without his twin.
Cab, have I ever told you that you're GREAT?! Well, you are!

HUGS- V

Oh yes! it's, what, almost 5' long? I have photo snaps of us setting it up - huge horseshoe...but it doesn't look like that in the actual photo! I was thinking I could do a big zoom-out so you could see the relative size of it, and then maybe cobble together individual sections so you could see everybody. Hmmm....

We veer back on topic to classics periodically, and we're pretty much all classic Mini Droolers, but...yes, we've *ahem* gone astray a little. But it's more fun this way.

So yesterday... I washed and waxed my old corolla and hubby's CRV. His CRV hadn't had a seriously good clean in a while and now I understand why there is a case for claying. When I was done washing and washing again, the car still felt gritty. Viola's bonnet feels the same way, but the doors are still as smooth as glass... so now... I get it.

Hubby is putting in an order for a whole ton of products for me and I guess I am going to spend MY birthday (which is going to be upon me soon, as if my nick wasn't any indication ) OCD detailing my MINI...

And I have realized... that I totally don't mind. I spent yesterday washing and waxing cars... and when I was done, I felt GOOD.

Why is this important?

Um... I have no earthly clue, but I felt like sharing.

V: You're welcome! I'm glad you had a nice birthday.

Nope. The corolla is a 99, has 63k miles on it, and NO mechanical problems what so ever. It also has airbags and a few other safety features that made us decide that it was a good first car for our kids, which is why hubby wanted to get me a new car in the first place. So the corolla is now the sacrificial vehicle.

The zaino claybar is close enough to pink... I'm going with that.

Agreed!

As for the clay bar talk...after spending the day washing/detailing both Alex & Betty -only to watch birds poop all over them in the next day- I too realize that I need to get a little clay-bar-action going on Alex. I have a few stone chips in the paint that need to be fixed too. I'd like her looking spiffy for her last year with me...I'm pretty sure I'l have to put her up for sale next year and just focus on Betty.

I have a roommate and friends that know a lot about using a clay bar -but I'm curious, how long it would take to do the whole MINI except the sides? I'm just curious if I should block out a 6 hour day or if we're talking like 2-3 hours...before I lose the feeling in my arms and I start cursing everyone's name

OH, WHY do you have to give up Alex???!?!

THe clay bar stuff...well...a really really good job - front, sides, top, back - will take you about 2-4 hours, depending on how clean the car is already. I did everything but the roof/sunroof (including windows) in less than 2hrs. But evidently i'm some serious OCD, because my clay bar was NOT a mess, and the job went so smoothly, I thought I was doing it wrong (see six pages or so back , pre-MOTD, in this thread!) And it's ok. You can just lose feeling in your arms, as long as they're on autopilot. And cursing us is ok, as long as we're not hearing it!

Hey Rg?? Why don't you just invent a little computer that will do all of the detailing?? Something like the Roomba? Then you will be rich!! We will name it the "Varoomba"

Uh-- I will try to snap a little pic soon!! The yard looks so nice and neat,, I could sit there and gaze at it alll day long..... "insert happy sigh here"
And Tn and Ola, thanks for your sweet comments, twas long ago but you just don't ever get over those kind of things...I think he would have been tall also,,

Anyhoo--- let's see, what else?
Oh!! The significance of the right SI joint si that I see it alot in people who are in and out of their vehicles alot. Espeically smaller cars that are closer to the ground. It can affect the left one too, but I usually notice it in the Right side. I found that if someone who is fighting this "malady" turns in their car seat ( swinging both knees out) and exits (or enters) their car with both feet firmly on the ground with thier feet parallel to ea. other that it takes the strain off the SI joint that is having trouble with ligament laxicity. Give it a try.

Mounting horses will eventually impact the left knee,,, I am a huge fan of mounting blocks when it is practical. Oh dear, hope this doesn't start the Miracle Ball conversation again!!

Gem! So glad to hear you are having such fun with your Scottish friends,,, do they hate our American beers??

And to all of the Classic Mini dudes and dudettes.... so glad to have you here!! Please stay and join in our silliness??

I had "volunteered" earlier to help park cars for the photo shoot. I just happened to show up first. I think I was was the most soaked thru person on the field.

When all was done I sat down in the MINI to drive up the hill to pick up something from one of the vendors. When I got out there was a puddle of water a 1/4" deep in the seat. I think I was a bit wet.

OMG I just referred to them,,, this is sooo funny!! Ola you can put them where ever they are needed... Like have you ever had that nagging pain along your scapula? Alongside your vertebral side? Take the MB and place it in that area and then lean aginst a hard surface ( wall, car, door, floor) and lean into it hard and then roll up and down over the area.

If you have a bad headache you can place the MB's behind your head while lying on the floor and place them on the "sit bones" or occipitalis and lie there really still with a soft even pressure and sometimes it will eliminate the tension and the headache.

there are tons of other ways to work out an inflamed or congrested area,,, a little book comes with the "*****"
