Wow- that's not cool on the separation. Dangerous even.
I've got the spoiler on the clubbie and it does help a tad... but just a tad... For me the mud flaps were because I was finding spray from my front and rear tires all over the car. Even had a chip in the paint (and when I brought it in to be touched up I was laughed at and told I was *really* picky! But they fixed it and smiled at me)

Hal, Hal, Hal... 75-80 is NOT speeding in Tn.. Don'tcha know what the truck drivers say? If we car drivers drove the speed limit, the trucks would end up running us over!

I just got back from the local tire shop. Took the MINI in for a tire rotation and balance. I've noticed lately that it has a little bit of vibration when I get up around 75 to 80 MPH. (Yeah I know, that's speeding. ) Found out it's not an out of balance situation. My left rear tire has developed a separated belt.

I currently have Dunlop run-flats, but gonna change to a conventional type tire. I'm going to get two new tires for now and hopefully get two more before the Dragon.

Love my mudflaps. They do help minimize the mud splatter on the car, but they don't eliminate it. I also think they look great and were worth the $$.

I wanted some, but I was told it wouldn't work with the JCW Aerokit. Glad it worked out!

That's probably true. I love the way the aero kit looks, but given the crapton of snow we get up here, I didn't want to reduce my ground clearance.

Just got back from the tire store in Tullahoma. Put on a pair of Falken ZE-912's on the front. Decided not to go with the run flats. For a little less than the price of a single r/f, I got two regular tires. So far the ride is smoother and seems to handle just as well. In a couple of weeks I'll get the other two replaced also.

In the thirty-seven years I've been driving, the only two speeding tickets I've ever got were here in Tennessee. One in Signal Mountain and the other over near Frankewing. That last one was expensive.

Are your's OEM or aftermarket? I'd like to find some I can install myself. Also do you have any pictures showing them?

I'm pretty sure hers are OEM (although purchased after she had received her car.) YOu can get them at the parts department at MINI. They're magnetic, so you can put them on and take them off - especially handy when washing the car! I don't have any, though, so we'll have to wait for Random G to get back!

OEM. The OEM ones can be self installed, or so I'm told. I just didn't want to and already had the car at the dealership for the roof graphic install, so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone. One of the guys in our local MINI club ordered them and installed them himself.

You want pics? I got pics!!

This shot is from the front side...

That reminds me... I really need to get off my butt and install the new grill...

The magnetic ones are the stone guards. Not the mudflaps. The mudflaps are installed by removing the wheels and screwing them into the wheel well. The stone guards are the black things in front of the wheels on my car in the above pics. I like them because she gets this gruff... athletic shoe sort of look about her when she's wearing them. LOL!

Hi kids. I think i overdosed on nyquil last night...... I was in bed and asleep by 9:30. Still can't breathe, but at least the horrific headache went away...it's just a little headache. I'm just not sure if it's from the cold, or from stress. Some people just make me SO MAD!!!

Thanks! I'm planning to replace the front grill as soon as it warms up enough to pop out those plastic pop-ins that hold the grill in place. Hubby got her a JCW grill for xmas this year.

I'm still debating on bonnets... but I do know I don't want black... considering going to the local graphic guy and seeing if he can do a slightly darker silver, just enough that you notice them when the light hits them...

Gem: Thanks! I really love the stone guards, so far, they seem to be doing the job. They've taken a couple hits from the traction "sand" they spread on the roads up here (they don't use road salt... just stupid IMO, but we'd rather die than have our cars rust in these parts. ), and they are holding up great. I think I got them for 30$ for the set and they were really worth it.

X: I hope you're feeling better! *hugs*

Hi guys. The folks who were making me so frustrated and angry were supposedly "strategic planners" for their military agencies (although not all were military - some were civilians.) Their idea of "leadership" is so convoluded it's laughable. On top of that, they were arguing points that make absolutely NO sense in the bigger picture of what's best for the Army, and continually thought I was talking out of my hat I was so dumb...Turns out I called it right, and the group (by a systematic process) ended up at the same conclusions that I warned them about in the begining of the discussions. HA. The topic was base camps - something fairly near and dear to my heart, since I was so heavily involved with building the ones in Baghdad, Iraq now. It's a much longer story, but you guys don't need to get bored with it, and I don't need to get "spun up" about it again!

ANYYWAAYYYY....today was rainy/icy! Had to leave work super early and run up to see grandma (two hours away.) Everything is ok - just a slight over reaction by my uncle not understanding her on the phone. Argh. Nyquil and sleep...yeah...that's what I need!!

Morning everyone! Nice pics RG!
X - I can sympathize - sounds like some dealings I've had with some contractors. It usually works out after everyone sees the other viewpoints.

Unfortunately, no one wants to see any other viewpoint but their own. It wasnt' even as if I was advocating MY specialty's viewpoint!! (that would be logistics, BTW) Argh. Ok. Not talking about it....not talking about it....

G'Mornin kids!
