Just looking for opinions on this color. I am not a fan. Just wondering what you folks think. I think this guy is a crack-pot!
The roof is off white...kinda like old english white but not exactly.
TTI, I'm a huge fan of spy photos. I like both, but probably would choose the light blue w/old english top over the darker blue color. I like the contrast of vintage-looking paint w/kick-**** vtec speed.
that is very blue... I have to say I would have to go with the darker blue (I actually like that a lot!) I will reserve final judgment on the other until it is all together but right now I'm...sceptical
First off, I'd say three more weeks at the painters.
Not funny, I know.
Secondly, some of the vintage colors I like quite a bit like Sideache's Mini for example...surf blue or something like that...but that there at the top of this thread is crack pot, to borrow the term. Looks all too Teletubby for me.
sorry my question is off the topic but seeing the picture of the darker blue, how does he mount the miata seats in the mini?
btw that light blue looks like the color of marina blue miata from a 1990-1993.
ACTUALLY if you look at the pics again, the first thing you see is the arches. They were very bright because of the flash on the camera. If you look in the same pic, way in the back is the flip front. It looks much darker.
Today I went by the painters and he had some stuff outside. It looks 10 times better than at first glance.
I am really happy with it. It does look like the paint chip in the book.

Lance, The blue on the brake drums was the best color I could find in the "Brake Drum" paint section.
Also, I finally post pics of the powder coating and not a single comment from you?
Please excuse the dust all over the engine. Its under construction ya know!
TTI
Hmmm...What? Oh yeah! I love it. The shroud will finish that off well. The damn thing needs a supercharger - it looks like someone I know but who doesn't have their glasses on.
This past weekend a guy had a vtec with a flame covered shroud which matched his flames on the side of his car...quite cool.
I score pretty low on originality. If I would have gone mirror finish with my head like it was SUPPOSED to be this last go around / head exchange, then it would be looking more showy...right now mine has the style / flavor of celery.
And that powder coat goes to my original complaint about the drums...you pick red, red and blue...it's like wearing sandals with shorts and plaid socks. Or more closely construed, it's like seeing a new Porsche with red calipers in the front, blue in the back. If Fritz shipped something like that out, za Germans would lynch him. I think you'll be able to see those colors if you use the normal type of Mini Lite. Then again, it's just an opinion of a guy who has his car at the garage where the main tools are the hammer and the anvil so what do I know.
