Mini Magazine vs. Mini World

I'm trying to decide which magazine to get... I have both new and classic Minis.

What are your thoughts?

That's easy! Get both. . . if you have 2 bathrooms, you're set!

Modern MINI Magazine

I get all 3 UK mags as I have both new and classic but I also like what I've seen of the US Mini mag MC2 which covers both........

U can check out ....

I dunno about some of the others...

yes MC2 does seen to know Mini exists and has offered some history lessons

and I can't say about some others but

MiniWorld is about Mini, not MINI. Lot's of pics of current cars from the 100% original restore, to VTEC, to the MC re-engines and then some. Lot's of solid wrench turnin' info too. I learn something useful from every issue....

http://www.miniworld.co.uk/

If you are in the 'read and drool' mode (what model railroaders call 'armchair modeling') you might also want to check out Classic MotorSports
http://classicmotorsports.net/ ... lot's of ideas about how to spend your money in this one!

I just always wished the subscriptions weren't $100+, or there would be a local press or US mini publication instead. I hate the thought of paying $10 for a year's subscription of Motorcyclist, then paying out $100+ for the mini mags...

Anybody aware of any subscription promotions? Its about time to renew again... heh.

I second Capt bj regarding MiniWorld. I pop into my neighborhood Barnes & Noble and buy it off the rack for $9.25. It does a great job of featuring mint-condition restores of proper classics as well as heavily modded performance monsters. It also has DIY wrenching features, classifieds (to make you cringe that you're not in the UK) and mini meet news worldwide. Since I have never traveled to the UK, I find the UK-oriented articles very interesting as I get to peep into mini-oriented lives that aren't built around the U.S. suburban mindset.

Mini World for the Classic in all of us, and MC2 for the BINI crowd. Both real good reading every month.
Like Capt BJ says, you'll read something new every month, and if you don't mind spending nearly $10 at Barnes & Noble like most of us do on Mini World each month, then check out there latest offer for overseas subscriptions. I think there throwing in some gear, like T-shirts and hats.
Give it a look.

I've had my sub' for a while but I believe the fine print says the freebies don't go to overseas subscriptions..... The sub' doesn't save anything off the single issue price really....just saves the trip to the store.
