Factory Restore???

Can somebody help me out here? Has anybody heard of this? I know they revin newer minis to imports them into the states i personally import Classic minis and sell them as a hobby. I messaged a person on ebay about her "1967" Mini and this it what she said.

Hello,
I purchased it from Oregon and registered it here in California. I was told that the factory restore took place in 2000. That is all I know for the history that the factory took this 67 and complete factory restore was done. This is very rare and in show room condition. I have taken it to car shows and special mini events and have have received many compliments. Should you need more photos or have any questions - feel free send me a message.

Sounds like to me it is actually a 200 that has been re-vined rather than a 67 that has been restored but i may be wrong. Anybody know for sure???

Thanks in advance

Chris Hill

SOME PICS MAY help. 67s did not have roll down windowns. So it's either a 2000 sold as a 67 or a 1967 car restore to factory specs in 2000. The latter tend to be pricy if done right as some bits are hard to get.

Right....

#1 the factory didn't restore any cars for the public - only built new.
#2 only a complete **** would be fooled into thinking this was a 67, damn lucky she got it registered in CA (if she did) an out of state inspection sure would've raised some questions I think.
#3 is this sale for real or possible scam?

I'm saying scam. Its a German spec vehicle anyways. Look at the speedo. Its in Kilometers, plus its left hand drive. Its the exact vehicle I am parting out except mine has the power full length sunroof, and mine is volcano orange.

Mines coming along nicely. Everything from the firewall back is removed except for a few small bits in the doors like the locks and exterior door handles.

FWIW, "factory restore" is a meaningless phrase.
