A special weekend event with additional support for the “Make A Wish” Foundation.
Description of Event
This event is a scenic tour of Lake Michigan, with special stops on route. This is fall in northern Wisconsin, Michigan Upper Peninsula and Northern Lower Peninsula and the fall colors should be spectacular at this time of year
The tour will depart from Motor City MINI in Shelby Township (a suburb of Metropolitan Detroit) on Thursday September 28th. Caravanning to Muskegon Michigan, gathering more MINIac’s in Lansing and Grand Rapids on the way. Hopefully in Muskegon we will be joined by West Coast Michigan MINIac’s as well as MINIACS from Neighboring states, for a meet and greet. (party for a while)
1st Night Stop Over Muskegon. (Discount accommodation being negotiated).
The official 1st day of this event will be Friday 29th September.
Friday morning after breakfast the group will head to the Lake Express Ferry (www.lake-express.com ). For the 10:15 am ferry crossing to Milwaukee. (We have reserved the crossing for MINI’s and Mini’s only. The ferry has a capacity of only 50 cars).
The Ferry crossing duration is approximately two & half hours. A good opportunity to get to know people and chat a while. A welcome lunch is planned when we arrive in Milwaukee.
After lunch, the cruise will continue along the cost line, through Sturgeon Bay, with a stop over in Green Bay WI. (Discount accommodation being negotiated).
On Saturday morning the cruise will make a short stop at Lambeau Field, before continuing the tour along the Wisconsin coast into Michigan’s Upper Peninsular. Saturday’s evening stop will be in the vicinity of the Mackinaw Bridge.
Depending upon driver & passenger’s individual plans, several routes for Sunday are available from making an express trip back to South East Michigan & Ohio via I75, or a relaxing cruise along the east cost of Lake Michigan. To an extra night’s stop in Traverse City.
Some important information:
The cost of the Lake Express is as follows:

Due to planned and unplanned overtime I may actually have Friday off to meet up with everyone in Milwaukee, and possibly head a little farther north.
I won't know for sure until the final week though.

That's great. I just heard from International MINI this week that they intend to have some of their customer in for lunch along with us. Should be a good time. (Get some of the rest of your Chicago miniacs as well.)

As much as I'd love to do ANY part of this run... I can't
Maybe next year. I've always wanted to drive around Lake Michigan. So much to do, so little time.
Tori -- I'll get you my donation as promised

Hi, where and when do you plan lunch in Milwaukee? I'm in Madison, WI. Perhaps I can meet up with you and join to Green Bay. I've only had my MCS since the end of June and can't wait to take a road trip and meet other people who may be as crazy (or more with luck) than me about MINI! I'm in Pittsburgh at the moment, but I think I will be home tuesday. If the weather looks good, a road trip is definetly a possibility! I look forward to hearing from you.
