Knauz MINI closing; Fields Infiniti now MINI of Glencoe

Just saw a letter from Knauz MINI stating that, as of today, they are closed and that all service inquiries should be directed to MINI of Glencoe.
At the same time, Fields Infiniti announced their closing and introduced themselves as MINI of Glencoe North Shore.

Does anyone know why this switch has happened? I've always been happy with Knauz. The swap won't hurt too much but it doesn't make my life any easier...

I managed to do some digging and it looks like Fields purchased Mini from Knauz. All the social media updated yesterday.
If the service staff came along for the ride I'll be pretty happy. Steve Porch always took good care of me and my cars.

Also Knauz MINI used to sponsor the arts festival here in Mundelein. Wonder what will happen with that.

Had my oil changed over there Monday. Place was presentable but still a little bare. No signs anywhere, had to ask where the service drive was ha. Steve Porch wasn’t there, but I didn’t ask about him.
