Dropping in to say hi! I've been researching for about a year and finally pulled the trigger on a 2005 R53. The community reminds me a lot of how the Subaru community used to be before the flatbill hat crew showed up lol. My girlfriend as I both wanted one and heard the community is cool so we hope to check out some events and have a good time.

So either way I as on the way home from the dealership in some podunky little town damn near to Kankakee when we roll into the south side on 53 (I think that's it at least, still learning the interstate numbers here) when a nice modded grey R53 comes buzzing past. Shortly after traffic comes to a halt and we were both stopped. All high on my new Mini hotness and trying to figure out what exhaust and aero kit the guy was running I hear skreeching tires. I look over just in time to see this white Honda Civic with Ohio plates splitting the lanes with his brakes locked up and somehow didn't hit anyone! Seriously this guy went ten cars in and didn't touch a single car. Either way I wanted to see if this guy I was behind was on here and tell him we now share a common bond of almost dying to a shitbox Civic from Ohio.

Well enough with the wall of text. Hope this community is as much fun or more than the Subaru one was back in the day. I still have my Subaru and wouldn't trade it for the world, hell its even my job now, but its just not the same anymore.

 

Congrats on your R53. Glad no one was hurt.
