Best Chicagoland MINI Service?

I usually go to Patrick MINI in Scumburg, but I was wondering if there are any other exceptional MINI service shops, even if it's a no-name local mechanic that does a good job.. I need to get my washer line to the rear wiper fixed, the driver side door inside lock wont work, and my meter says its 500miles til it needs servicing.. can anyone besides the dealer take care of that?

Thanks!

I can honestly say The Rover Shop is AWESOME. (not just because they are only a mile from me! lol)

Glenn is a great guy, super nice, If I go to the shop to pick up/ drop off the car, I end up spending half an hour there talking to him. He's very knowledgable and you can tell that he knows the in's and out's of every Mini engine. He can even install whichever mods you might want to get done.

I'm a big fan of Patrick's service department. They always spoil me.

Does the rover shop have the ability to do computer stuff like reprogramming windows when the dipper quits working?

Just stopped by there today to have my alternator and belt replaced after getting quotes from all over. Great shop technician (Rich) who really understands Coopers, their problem areas, and good solutions after spending the time on the car to come up with the right diagnosis. Also able to be competitively priced (and far less expensive than the dealership, of course). Loaner cars are also available, and the service advisers up front were knowledgeable and pleasant as well. Great experience!

Good to hear that you're thrilled with the work. I know it was a LOOOONG ride for you to get here, but thanks for the trust.

Hope to see you again!

Thanks guys! Lake Villa is quite a drive, but Hubbard Woods is pretty close. Does anyone know if any of these shops do body repair? I got a lil cancer spot forming under my left tail light.. =(

And does anyone know how much Inspection II typically costs?

Go to A&L Autobody in Palatine. Ask for Anthony. He is a really nice guy. Shop is really cool as well because they have e90/92s there. They are also part of IND.

Thanks for the links guys!

New here, live out in sticks in Garden Prairie, wondering if anyone has gone anywhere besides Schaumburg dealer for oil change? Live near Rockford, or DeKalb, both the same distance.

I change my own oil but I fear the 08 cooper is going to need a clutch some day -- I was thinking of going to hubbard woods when that day comes since it's close to me. Anyone know about what a clutch for a non-s 2008 costs?

The formerly Rover now Euro Shop

When you have a couple of high mileage cars having a good tech is a must. Glenn fits that bill perfectly.

They are also great in emergency situations, like my recent pot hole induced tow and wheel repair or the very strange code on the Honda.

Dustin can also get all sorts of go fast turn fast stop now parts too.

I highly recommend them.

Have not been happy with Patrick MINI, will probably try the Euro Shop since my warranty is now over and I don't want to give my money to Patrick. Service sucks and everything takes at least 2 trips to the dealer to get fixed.

I'm going to hubbard woods motors on monday and was at the mini dealership today. Mini dealership was good, just got something checked out. Spoke with rich from hubbard seemed extremely knowledgable when it came to the MCS.

someone in the wetern suburbs to TRY

MotorWerks opened a shop in Wheaton that I've gone to now for two smallish service items on my R56 (a brake flush and an alignment) ... technician Brian has BMW experience and took good care of me there, no complaints.

I like PatrickMINI service, but am also shopping around for alternates that are closer and/or a little-more-reasonable --

I went to Hubbard Woods Motors and the guy I spoke with knows everything about the MCS. He explained everything that needed to be done with my vehicle.

I need my throw out bearing & flywheel replaced, for those of you who know, it costs quite a bit to get it replaced so for now the mini must stay in the garage until I can get the $$ to pay for it.

while i dont know about the body repair - i can tell you about the Inspection II. i just got my little guy back this week; and I couldnt be more thrilled with the service at Hubbard Woods Mini. i had other suspension issues that needed to be addressed, brakes, and motor mounts; which did not come as a surprise. the inspection was under $500 - but i guess that would depend on what needs to be replaced. i think i had all the usual stuff; spark plugs, belt, oil, etc.
i will definitely be taking care of my mini's long life with HWM. and the best part is; it is on the Metra - North Line. I live in the city and work in Deerfield (Braeside stop on this line), so it couldnt have worked out better!

love to Tad and his team!

Does HWM have any provision for loaner cars, or somewhere to rent from nearby?
