Thank you!!! Another great use is for washing your wheels without getting the rest of the MINI wet. Perfect for people with white wheels. I've got another video coming that I shot yesterday on doing this--I washed the wheels inside of our showroom using a simple water catching device and a bucket.

And it looks perfect if you are in an area with water restrictions. Pick up distilled water and you're good to go. Last year there were quite a few posts from owners that weren't allowed to wash their cars. This solves that problem. If you're just concerned about conserving water, this looks nice for home use since you know exactly how much water you are using.

Damn it, I want one.

Nice tip on sheeting the water off too!

Definitely a Ryobi charger and battery. Makes for finding a replacement or additional packs as easy as going to Home Depot.

Hi Richard, I've been thinking about this since you showed me last week. I live in an apartment block, so hosing is not an option. Previously I used a 2 bucket method and then another bucket for rinse off. I can see already that this isn't going to work as well in as CA starts to get warmer and sunnier, so, I think you just made a sale.

Do you have one in stock? That would give me a good excuse to come and ogle the Porsches tomorrow ;o)

Haha, yes I've got 3 in stock right now---got my demo and gave one away at AMVIV..sadly to someone that had no idea what he won--at AMVIV he wanted to trade it for an RC MINI and when he came to pick it up at my shop, even after my demo, he wanted a new in box one "in case" he gave it away.

You can definitely take one home with you tomorrow at the Porsche clinic.

Thanks for those excellent videos! If I didn't live so far away (New England),
I swing by to pick one up. May have to consider ordering one.

You're welcome!! Oh I can ship by FedEx Ground. I think the box weighed around 26pounds or so. Shouldn't be too expensive---I do a lot of shipping with them--you'd be surprised how little a 49 pound box of Black Wow to New Jersey costs from California, lol.

that looks like the same battery from the ryobi "one" series of cordless hand tools. If that's the case this thing is even more appealing. Neat stuff.

Yep, I think Post #15 and Post #27 concur.

Darn, I was hoping it was a DeWalt 18V battery, since I already have several of those. Oh well, at least it uses a widely-available battery instead of something proprietary.

Just to update, I sat in megatraffic yesterday to go and pick one of these up from OctaneGuy. Used it today along with a single bucket and all was well - car looks nice and shiny again. Great tool, very quiet and I think I used maybe 1.5 gallons to wet down, rinse twice and do the wheels

Not sure what the big thing is about the battery? 3 tanks per battery is plenty! I just washed the wifes very dirty Murano and my MINI inside the garage. Used about 4 gallons of water total to prerinse and final rinse along with a soap bucket. Now that I'm done, I can throw the battery on the charger--or go wash a couple more cars, before doing it.

I really appreciate that--and it was great seeing you yesterday!

It's not a big deal, and it certainly wouldn't keep me from buying the washer. I'm just bad about forgetting to charge batteries after I use them in portable tools (sometimes going several sessions without recharging). As a result, I like to have an extra battery on the charger so that when I finally run down the battery in the tool, I just swap out the battery with the one on the charger and keep going. That's why I was happy to hear that even it the battery isn't a DeWalt, it's one that I can at least pick up at the local home store.

One charge is sufficient for about 3 tanks. If you charge it after every wash or second wash you won't be caught with a dead battery.

Thanks for the reminder. I changed servers recently and a lot of things changed and I'm still trying to figure out what's broken.

Here is the Nomad at my store.

I have been using mine for about six months now and really like it. Filled with water it is REALLY heavy, but I use my detail cart to move it around. The pressure is fine to clean wheels and wheel wells as long as you do a bit of scrubbing first. I use ONR, so I don't need it to rinse the whole car. Perfect for us condo dwellers.
