Shortest route to Las Vegas from BC that doesn't involve snow.
I'm planning on driving to Las Vegas in mid-March from the Vancouver area. The shortest route I found is a 20 hour drive. However, that route includes going into Idaho. On that route, I noted some rather high elevations which could mean snow. I don't plan on driving down with snowtires on.
Can anybody advise a route that I can take with less than 2 day's driving?
I was hoping to keep it at 2 10 hour stints with an overnight stay in a motel somewhere.
Thx.

I-15 to Barstow, CA
58 through Bakersfield, CA and continue west to connect with I-5
I-5 to Washington/British Columbia border then on through to Vancouver.
I know that taking I-15 to Barstow is somewhat southerly, but you will enjoy very high speeds on both I-15 and on I-5 which should more than make up for the extra miles. You should have no trouble on I-5 even with heavy snow with the possible exception of the Siskiyous (roughly 50 miles both sides of the CA/OR border). There may be a better way to get from LV to I-5 (it's been a while since I lived in that area), so you might want to ask around. 99 will be slower than I-5, but it would save you a few miles.
That said, there are prettier routes than I-5 . . . .
Good luck. Should be a fun drive.
