My First Thread
Okay...please don't think I'm going post-crazy...but...
I was fishing around on the internet and came across the Nelson Ledges track website. It looks like fun but I wanted to see what opinions you all have on it. Is it fun/worth it? Is there another alternative you might suggest if it's not?! And of course, would anyone want to go out there with us and how does that work in terms of getting track time (fun days?) Thanks!
I just realized what an awful thread title that was given the subject!

good work
On your first thread post. Now understand that you'll get a ton of off-topic replies (OT).
Nelson's Ledges Fun Days are exactly that - FUN!!! I've participated as a driver and co-pilot. The Mid-Ohio Minis have a post started to go sometime in October: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=150494
What is great is to co-pilot with an experienced driver. They have awesome tips. Then take your mini out. The only thing I had to buy was a helmet

I have gone with Wellzy and I am sure he will post his opinion. I think they are a great idea. Go with the Mid Ohio group if you can you will have a LOT of fun. Another option is Auto Cross. I believe that wellzy and I are going on 9-28-08 Sunday
. You will have to have a Helmet to AutoCross too.

I think for the first day out at the tracks I might make a better co-pilot than a pilot, just to get my feet wet...I'm not, eh-hem, a wuss or anything
. Yeah.
Where is AutoCross...do they have a website I can look at?

Hey! I'm a wuss! So what!
I've done Nelson Ledges 2x. Once with the Classic group which was a cake walk, but the other with Porsches and Vettes. I almost crapped that time.
Don't think I need to do track days again. I'm happy just looking guuuuuuud.

ok all the detals are as fallows.
1. you will need a helmat.
2. a car in good working order.
3. every thing out of your car that is not bolted down.
4. cooler sun screen anything else personal.
5. coast will be 25 bucks
the place will be at lakeland communty collage, regestration starts at 9 am first car off about 10:30. there is other stuff like walking the corse but that can be covered at the event.
a side note this stuff is a loads of fun and the porsha clubs is top notch, they are the ones that put this on.

It's sounds like a ton of fun! I think I was highly caffeinated during my previous post, but I am thinking that I will come up to watch and get a feel for it and hang out before I get my butt on the track. Yes, I am one of those people that takes 15 minutes to ease himself into the swimming pool!
Bear with me! Are there going to be some other spectators?!
