How long will you be in Canberra? I can try to round up the usual suspects in our neck of the woods.

Hey! Well i unfortunatly left my mini in the US :( but, i havent driven a car, and only seen a few mini's since i got here in Feb. If you still want to meet up and take a US mini lover for a ride in a AU car, please please do!!! I like the speedo on the steering wheel, and the tach in the center. Thats pretty cool! I'll be getting into Canberra on thursday, and leaving on tuesday.

Cool.
My contact number is 0419986988. I'll go and see if anyone is up for a drive or lunch/dinner (or both). What would suit you best - lunch or dinner or just a coffee? Look forward to meeting up.

Big Howdy to Mr Coughing (won't give away his name just in case he has kept it hidden).
Was cool to meet up and re-kindle that flame for your Mini mate. I'm keen to see the results of your next mods.
Have a load of fun for the rest of your stay in Oz!
Cheers.

Thanks again for the ride in the mini, and meeting some awesome Canberra mini owners. You guys are great and are always welcome in the states.
I'll keep you updated on the mods, and hopefully the car will handle them...
Let me know how those sweet 18's are when you finally get them (got a website so i can see a pic?) and the 16% install goes...
Cheers for now!

What kit are you getting for the wider rims, and will you need spacers etc.. to prevent the rub... also whats the weight, you can PM me if you want so this doesnt go too far off topic.!
I have figured out the offset I need for the wheels so that I don't need to use spacers - The company that made the kit that I have (Konigseder) recommended 8.5 inch with an et of 35, but I did a trial fit of the body kit and that would have been very close. I can't believe it but I have erred on the side of conservative and ended up going for:
18 x 8 et 35 - Fronts
18 x 8.5 et 29 - Rears
Should look fat and give me that euro-look that I am after (not super low but with wheels and tyres that fill the arches with a whisker to spare - standby for rubber stretched across rims if need be)
Here is a wee piccy of what it will look like when finished
