When I collected my car (on a Friday evening) I had about 800kms, and 6 laps of Wakefield, completed by Monday morning.
This weekend, the wife and I went to LA to watch an AFL game. My home team (Sydney Swans) were playing the Kangaroos in LA. Found out about it by accident and got tickets through the Swans.
It was part of a week-long Aus-fest in LA named "Gday-LA". The match was at UCLA and included a bunch of other stuff including a show by Steve Irwin.
It was cold and windy early in the day so we were waiting for the doors to open for the Croc Hunter show, with the end result that we got front row seats. I guess a bunch of Aussie media were there too, and a friend of mine in Melbourne emailed me and told me she saw my wife and I on the 9 news.
The Swans lost the footy, mainly because they only played 6 of the premiership players, choosing to give the rookies a run. We went to a dinner on friday night with the players where they introduced the rookies. There must have been 20 of them! And DAMN they're young!
There were a bunch of celebrities at the game (being in LA and all), but the only one we saw was John Travolta. Was a good weekend in all, even though I paid US$7.50 each for 3 meat pies. Worth it but.

No, Unobtainium. An extremely rare element that is unobtainable. Something that you just can't get is made of unobtainium. Beef tail and hog ears are all too obtainable, though why you would want to is beyond me. Oxtail soup is supposed to be quite popular in some places though.
Sounds like a top weekend Agro, good onya cobber!!
Meat pies....hmmmm take 'em or leave 'em
Ilove my lamb roast though, I believe that's none too popular over there either
Unobtanium.... I like that

Meat pies were infrequent meals at home, but when you can't get them, and it's been 2 1/2 years since the last one, you miss them. I didn't eat them all the time, but once in a while, and I always knew they were there when I wanted one.
Lamb...love my roast lamb. It's not real big here (my wife won't eat lamb at all) but you can find it. 3 places between my office and my house sell lamb, and it's only a 3 mile commute. There is a small chain of places in Vegas named "The Village Pub", kinda stylised English pubs who have roast leg of lamb as their sunday night special. $5 for a big plate of lamb and veges. Mmmmm...we hit them about twice a month on average.
