AMVIV SOLO1 the "REAL Story"
After reading the press release from MM I can't keep quiet. I don't know if MM was misinformed or what but Matt Jensen deserves credit and my Way Motor Works prepped car does as well.
MM said:”#1 T.C. Kline in a Group 3 R56. Only cold air intake and exhaust cat back mods, but unlimited suspension, tires and brakes. This was quite clearly the best handling car of the day and very well driven by T.C. Matt Jensen, #41 in Group 4 JCW Spec racecar on street tires very deservedly won Group 4. Matt is a past competitor in the NAMCC Race Series.”
Sorry here are the official transponder recorded times from the event:
1st place Matt Jensen WMW R53 2:00.108
2nd place T.C. Kline R56 Turbo 2:00.420
3rd place Lex Pearce 2:04.659
Cleary, Matt had it in the bag with the 4+second lead over 3rd place and the rest of the field. I will give T.C. credit as I know he is an excellent driver, as I've seen him at the SCCA nationals before. I will also say Kline had a faster car in a straight line as you could see from the start when he launched and made it to turn one much faster than our car. So if the car was faster in a straight line wouldn't Matt’s car have to handle better to make it up???
Yes I set that car up and then drove it 30hrs across the country towing a trailer, not bad in my opinion.

In case you didn't know what was being referred to, here's the press release:

I will admit I was surprised when I saw the results, I figured TC and the turbo had it in the bag. Big props to Way for the setup. Wish a few more of the fast R53's could have been out there for comparison.
Strangely the MM supported race car was a solid 4 seconds off pace.

Your right for one it was really a solo1, and second I justed wanted to vent my frustration of the truth about the event. I think I was due some credit for building the car that won.
