AMVIV 2006 meet-up thread.
Yes Lois, we will be in Denver when you get here
and we will get you a bath and a hot shower and then we go.
About 4.5 hrs to Grand Junction area for the Thursday overnight. I have been stirring up business in KC, no takers yet, hope to have some.
Depending on how you and Gary drive, it will be right at 9 hrs from KC, gain an hour, with one gas / potty stop.
See you soon.

I was just wondering if anyone is as crazy as me, and thinking about driving to Vegas from Indiana (or close by)??? If there is anyone like me out there, do you want to caravan/drive together???
Lois, I'm not sure how much further/closer KC is to Denver, but with the cruise control set to 5 over the speed limit, it took me about 8 hours from Lincoln, NE to Denver.
MiniRacer_17, it's not THAT bad a drive. I recently drove a classic Mini from Cleveland to Vegas in 3 days. 1st night in Omaha, 2nd in Vail (Denver would have been a better idea in retrospect) and 3rd in Vegas. Microsoft Street and Trips claimed that it was faster to go through Salt Lake City than Denver, but I already knew the way via Denver.

This is my probable route http://maps.google.com/maps?q=bend,o...vegas,nv&hl=en. Although I can be flexible on it.

But if that falls through, I'll be in Fresno Wednesday night ready to launch out of there Thursday morning. I don't plan on returning until Monday morning, too much seat time with the run on Sunday and the 500mi home all in the same day.

Be advised: this is last year's thread!
FWIW: A bunch of folks in SoCal will be caravanning to AMVIV 4 (March 2007) starting in LA county around 10AM Thursday morning, March 22nd, 2007. A meetup near the outlets at Barstow like last year would be cool.

Anyone coming through Oklahoma, we will be meeting at the dealership on Wednesday the 21st at around 8:30 -9ish (haven't pinned down the exact time). I am not sure on who all is coming this year... So I don't know how many of us there will be!!
We hope to meet up with a few on the way, but we are leaving Sat. the 17th and hope to arrive Tues. sometime.
FL to Lake Charles, LA -- Sat. est. 13 hours
Lake Charles to El Paso -- Sun. est. 13-14 hours
El Paso to Phx. -- Mon. est. 8-10 hours
Phx to Vegas -- Tue. est. 8-9 hours
This is not set in stone but just a rough est.
I chose this route to avoid any bad weather along the way, I really don't like the idea of getting stuck along the way because of snow or ice.
Anybody heading that way drop me a PM
See you there.
