Killer Ported MINI S head

Killer Ported MINI S head

These used Heads are reconditioned to Performance Specs by: "Thumper Performance of Orange Park"

Both the Intake and Exhaust Bowls have gone thru extensive Bowl re-work. Opening , smoothing, blending, modifying the Valve boss to direct and increase air flow, with attention to the short radius.
Intake Ports are matched to gasket size, Ported and smoothed into the Port to the bowl. Exhaust is Ported to gasket, then opened to allow more air flow from the Supercharger, with port blending and reshaping deep into the Bowl, and then Polished.
To maintain Port Velocity, the stock valve size is retained with a Performance valve job, and a " Flow" back cut on the valve to increase low lift flow at the valve and seat, for higher velocity and faster cylinder filling. This keeps the low and increases mid-power range!! ( no flat spots here !)
The Chambers have the "hot spots" blended to prevent detonation. Head is surfaced flat to insure seal, and will allow 18- 35 HP at the wheels, depending on mods!!
$1595.00 PAYPAL OK!! Price includes: Head/ Exhaust/ Intake/ Valve cover Gaskets !! FREE* Shipping !!

*** Refundable Core Fees of $600.00 will be ADDED to the cost and Happily REFUNDED when your Good core is recieved within 30 Days!
Add'l Valve type and sizes available...

Thanks

Yes.. and we cant catch the guy to see how he likes it!! LOL !!

" Mike, you're top-notch, man. I am very pleased with the work you did on the head, and although I didn't have a chance to "let it rip" just yet, I could feel the difference even in low RPMs, and if I let it go, it just goes! I mean, first gear is a dream now. Second is amazing, and, well... you know the rest. lol.

The car "feels lighter", but it's just the extra ponies doing work. I'm loving it big time, man. " Posted SSM

" Double WHOO-HOO!!!! AND I'm awake now!!

The head is pretty sweet so far, I couldn't let it loose because I was told not to rev it above 4K RPMs until the cam and head "break themselves in" a little bit, but after 270 miles of highway, I can tell they're pretty broken in, and working flawlessly!

I really notice the "pick-up" ponies in first and second; I just let off the clutch, and next thing I know I'm already at 4K !

Thank you again, Thumper!

SSM 12-06 N/A MINI Cooper

Leo is the first.. He loves it, as you can tell... he has promised to have a dyno sheet in the first of the year. No hesatation/ no flatspots... just raw power!! cool?? Email me at Thumper460@hotmail.co for more info.. my site is in work at this time..
Thanks

Thumper

I suppose it should go without saying, but for the (understandably) skeptical Cooper owners out there.....

Most MINI products and modifications are done with the S in mind. It makes sense really - focus your R&D, etc (and the $$$ they typically cost), where the overwhelming majority of the market is. Your description in post #1 above is a great example of that sort of market focus. Fortunately for us non-S owners, the cars are almost identical, so most of the bits and pieces brought to market are interchangeable.

Head work, on the other hand, isn't "one-size-fits-all".....or am I wrong about that?

Is Leo's cylinder head any different than what you would typically do for an S?

LOL... oh hell yes it is different!! the N/a needs the velocity and air flow to move the air... there are a LOT of tricks ( for less of a better word) to make that happen!! the N/a engine was the first engine and there is a LOT of killer procedures out there that bennifit just THEM!!

Kurvhugr..you are right again... the cooper is more in numbers than the S, and It just seemed to me that the S/C guys were the ones moding, seeing how here in Jax, most of the n/a cars dont seem to be involved in moding...

That being said.. that is the reason I do both Heads.. for BOTH engines!! NO cookie cutter heads... there are sutle changes that make or break a good n/a engine!! Dont let the S guys get your goat!! Install my head and let them see YOUR tail lights for a while!! cool??

Formating issues.... what is that!!?? Give me a carb, or a camshaft to degree... typing?? duh!! LOL

Just me.................................

Thumper,

Can you recommend anyone in Northern California, SF area, for head work? Someone with your knowledge of NA Coopers.

Is that Free shipping to Hawaii as well???

Do you recommend adding a Schrick cam along with your ported and polished head? Any other cam option?

Do you recommend any particular exhaust header to work best with your head? Will a stock header work OK or is it better to have OBX or Megan or Miltek, etc.

How long is the wait once the head is ordered?

How does the head affect gas mileage? Should we expect a drop in mpg?

I wish shipping to you was FREE !! I take in most of it.. but do to rate increases, I cant do it all... Email me at my address and I'll help futher.
The Head is a solid stepping stone!! it allows all the other mods to work BETTER!! The add'l flow with a Camshaft is rocking!! a Header is good also..how ever a customer pulled over 240 BHP ( 211 SAE corrected) with a stock CAM/ stock exhaust header / and stock I/C !! and then another with the Schrick and I/C pulled 245.7 BHP ( 215 SAE ) !! The power is and will be there as the heads are the key!! Tuning will be even MORE power.. cool??

Mileage went UP!! after the right foot got under control!!

I have more info that I can email you.. cool?? I will need your zip to figure on the shipping?? Know anyone at Pearl?? Just a thought!

Just me.................................

Thanks DigiMike. I've seen them mentioned several times on NAM. I live in the south bay, Silicon Valley, any recommendations in that area?

Sorry, I don't know anyone in the South Bay.

Bay Bridge Motors had done a few things for me and they are knowledgable. They specialize in Minis and BMW.

They are near BART if that makes it any more convienent for you.
