Feeler/FS: CO, 2003 Xenon OEM headlamps
SOLD----------Asking $600 plus shipping
I upgraded my OEM lights to the 2006 OEM projectors Xenons. I used the headlamp washer sprayers that came with my '03's and put them in the 2006's, so no washer sprayers included, but they are fairly inexpensive at the dealer and come with covers and just snap into place. I looked into pricing and they were not that bad...less than $100 from the parts counter, probably cheaper through Classic with the 20% NAM discount. I checked incase I broke mine getting them off my of my '03 lights....I did snap a couple clips that hold on the chrome half moon cover, but they still hold...so I decided not to buy new ones.
Both right and left are fully functional, in perfect condition, nearly flawless (meaning VERY minimal rock chips). I have had the car over 3 years, but it only has 14,600 miles on it...all fair weather driving, only rained on a few times, never in the snow or post snow to avoid the sand....car is very well taken car of, so lights are in amazing condition. Bulbs are the OEM 4300K D2R for the standard beams, and the OEM bulbs for the H7 high beams. Chrome outer ring included and also in GREAT shape
Would like to sell to local Colorado member, but will consider shipping at buyer's expense.
I know what I paid for my replacements, so I have a fair idea what they are worth, and I have no problem holding on to them...so I will only accept reasonable offers. I also will not split the lamps unless 2 people will buy at the same time and take what ever side they want.
So....make me an offer I can not refuse, and get youself some nearly mint OEM Xenons from an '03...will fit any year MINI to '06....might also be a good replacement for your chipped up Xenons...then you can sell yours to gain some money back...making it a super cheap fix to your rock-chipped lights.
Thanks
Jon

Here is a pic of the actual light, on the RIGHT...where the left is what I put in the car. I took this shot a couple of weeks ago when I put the lights in the car. You can see the condition of the lights, and the fact that the washers are NOT installed...

So, what did this switch-o, change-o cost you?
Was it worth it in the end? Would you do it again?
This looks interesting but I've heard that this mod costs close to $2K ?!?
Just interetsed. I have the 2002 Xenon and have always liked the look of the newer Xenons.

I spent about $300 per side (a touch over $600 total), bought the lamps seperately from 2 different people...take-outs from wrecked cars. It was plug and play, and the difference is wonderful...light dispersion is improved, but overall light output is about the same. Aestheticly, MUCH improved with the new design....even my wife, who could care less about cars, said she loves the new lights.

Hey Dan....they changed over from 2004 to 2005 to the new design, which is what both you and M have. I have been craving these lamps since I first saw them online....now I am WAY happy. I am switching the bulbs to 6000K D2S this week though, more of a pimp ride look for my toy car.
Thanks for the congrats...the wedding was a BLAST!!!! wedding and swimming pool party all in one

Xenons 101. Pure white light out of the bulb is around 4300K (kelvin) This is a color temperature rating of the bulb. When the rating goes up, you get a more blue to purple....blue being in the 6000K to 8000K, over 10000K you get purple. As you increase the K level....you decrease the Lumens. Lumens are a rating of how much candle light power is put out. Same holds true if you decrease the K value. Stock H7 halogen bulbs run at about 700K.
I just want a more blue look to my lights, although the light performance will decrease a bit. For max PERFORMANCE and light output, 4300K has been considered the best, pure white, maximum lumen output.
That is what I know, and a basic introduction....the D2S bulb is the bulb that fits into a projector lamp...like the new lamps...D2R is a reflector bulb that fits into the old lamps, the ones I am selling and like you have.
Hope that helps

Much appreciated Jonathan. I will be working this weekend, as usual, at the hospital, so I won't be able to be there. If you hear of anyone interested, send them my way.

this is what they are going for on ebay....and the ones on ebay are from cars that were in accidents. these are in near perfect shape....so you can always try to find less expensive ones on ebay that are in worse condition and have the risk of having the bulbs damaged because of being in an accident. replacing the bulbs can run from $100-$150 for true D2R bulbs. $600 plus shipping is more than reasonable for a set of OEM housings plus all the Xenon components. A Xenon kit alont is $300 for a super cheap non-name kit, and up to $400 for a decent Phillips kit. Just keep that in mind, this is an OEM kit, designed for the housing, and it is in perfect shape.
