I am selling a stage 1 head off a 02 mcs. it has roughly 10k miles on it. I just had it repaired for a stripped spark plug hole. The shop i sent it to is a reputable engine performance shop in livermore, CA. I have all the info on it if you would like it. The head was my fathers but since he passed away it has been sitting in the garage for over a year now and i have no use for it. $500 Shipped obo make me an offer. located in Tracy, CA, about 1hr from SF. I am willing to meet someone as long as its not to far.

it says they add 1k in the price for the core so that means the stage 1 head is 795. someone correct me if im wrong

 

Missed a 1 there, the Mini Mania link has it at $1795. Check the dropdown to select options for the price.

Whoahh...you are correct...there is $1000 core charge....sorry, my bad, went back was looking again.

 

i thought so.....i dont really see what they did with the stage 1 compared to the stage 2 which looks like a real upgrade head with a port n polish,valve job and larger valves.

 

wouldnt the added core charge mean that the mini mania head is $1700 and if you send your core to them they will refund you for supplying them with another head? Correct me if i am wrong, i may not fully understand the concept.
Read it over some more and realized that you are right.

im still curious to whats really done to this head since the good stuff is only on there stage 2....looks like they only blend the ports between the int and exh chambers

All i can really say is that the mcs it was in made good power at around 270 whp. Sorry I dont have the dyno sheets to prove it. Of course it had other parts on it as well but this was one of them.

 

what mods did u have done besides that head???

 

miltec header exhaust, unichip ecu tuned by modacar, grs intercooler, 15% pulley, Matched and extrude honed IM and SC runners, nology hot wires, after market coil, CAI, 62mm TB, I also have reason to belive that it had a shrick cam.

 

im not trying to be a d*ck but you did not have 270whp nor even 270bhp with those parts.

dont care if you dont believe me. ask people in norcal who knew Eamon Kerley, he was pretty well known in norcal minis. He drove a yellow mini.
