Drive-In Movie Night!!!

After sucha great drive to the winery last week, it seems that everyone is now talking about going to a drive in movie together. Sounds great to me!

From the other thread, it sounds like a Friday night after Labor Day would be best?

Sounds good to me. Friday Sept 8th. Maybe we can get there early to scope out parking & socialize. Which theater are we going to Argo or Harpersville?

Will they both be showing the same film that night? Maybe if they have a schedule ahead of time, they could share it with us? That could make a difference.

As if anything could compete with a pre-movie hwy 25 run.

I would guess they show the same movie at both locations since it is the same owner. I have called both theaters & there is no way to talk to a human & they don't have a "coming events" on the prerecorded phone message. Maybe we can find out what's playing early in the week before we go. I can go to either drive-in too but the thought of a pre-movie Hwy 25 run kinda makes me wanna hit Harpersville

Hwy 25 to Harpersville sounds good to me . They hopefully will at least have a recording of what is playing by the middle of next week.

I just called the Harpersville location and they are open on Sundays. For this weekend, they are still showing "Talladega Nights" and "Snakes", hopefully that will change for next weekend.

We've heard from almost everyone (except Louispup) that has said that they wanna go so are we changing it to Sunday the 10th? Where do we want to meet to do the Hwy 25 run & at what time? Do we need to get to the theater early to get to park together? Are we sneaking in beer & bootloads of people

Oh, I'm in.

With all the festivities of meeting up, the ride out, setting up and socializing before sunset; I'm wondering how early a start would be needed? (I work in Avondale until 5:15, and I'd hate to miss the scurry fury of "We're late. We have to leave, Now!" as during the wine run ).

And we'd want to get there early enough to park in a row. Or a block. Together anyway.
Might be that a Sunday would allow more time.

I was thinking we should plan on driving off at 6:45 (& drive off time means drive off so show up earlier for chat time I showed up 30 minutes early for the wine run )? But that really depends on where we meet. Do we want to do the same drive we did for the winery run & meet at DQ again? If so I think the ride will take about 45 minutes. So is arriving at the drive in around 7:30? Is that too early/too late? If so we can drive off a bit later.

p.s...don't forget our monthly dinner is the day after we are planning this. I don't mind seeing y'all 2 days in a row but thought I would remind.

how bout the 17th? It would be a lit bit cooler maybe and still before daylight savings time ends. Maybe they would even have changed the movies by then.
