Coming to Barber in July

I just purchased tickets for the Rolex/Grand Am races the last weekend in July.

I will be doing the Lancaster, PA to Orlando (visit Son#1) to Columbus, GA (visit Son #2) and then to Birmingham "scenic route".

Any suggestions for "MINI friendly" routes from (1) Orlando to Columbus and then (2) Columbus to Barber?

Steve D.

Cool Roads

From Columbus to Barbers; Take 280 to Dadeville ,Alabama, then 49 north Mt Cheaha is a cool road, then 281 through the forest to Talladeaga is really cool.

I plan to go to this event. I would love to make a lap around the track. I guess if we have more Minis there than any other car, then we could all take a lap.

So what club name do we want to give so that we all count as the same club so we win the lap around the track?

If all the MINI owners who plan to come use Birmingham Area MINI Association to order tickets, we could have enough cars there in total to get the track tour lap. We will try to get the number of cars from each club so we can get the rebate to the club who had members present. Do not drive the family van and expect to park in the car corral or take the lap. Everyone must be in a MINI to park in the corral with the other MINIs. Any other questions, post them here.

I plan to attend this event with YuccaPatrol and sndwave and will be sure that sndwave books tickets as a member of BAMA. Can't wait to see Tony and the team and all y'all!

I remember I went last year, I was the lone new Mini at the car corral area. Just trying to remind, there were a load of BMWCCA people at the corral last year who did the parade laps, so if we want to do it this year, we need virtually everyone to participate.

What Day are the minis racing??

I am confused. I want to go to the race the Nuzzo minis are in. I figured that would be the Rolex on Sunday but the Nuzzo website says they are at Barber the 29th & 30th (Fri/Sat) & the Barber site says the Minis are racing in the Grand Am on Sat. So is Saturday the day to go see the Minis & get in their pit???

(I am posting this at Magicmini too)

Barber Info

The MINI Cooper S is in Class ST, running in the Grand-Am Cup (http://www.grandamerican.com/). The Grand-Am Cup 200 is on Saturday at 2:00pm. There will be practice on Friday and Saturday and qualifying Saturday morning. Barber's site will have more and more info as the race gets closer. Here is a link to the schedule that's on the site presently: http://www.barbermotorsports.com/2005schedule.pdf. Be sure to order "car club" tickets and list MINI-Birmingham as your club choice (http://www.magicmini.com/downloads/2...ecialOffer.pdf). This gets you a paddock pass as well as a Car Corral Parking Pass so you can park in the Expo area with all the other MINIs and car clubs. Should be a great event. Just hope it doesn't rain like it did the last Cup race they had. See you in the Corral.

What did everyone else do on this?

I was just ordering tickets for the races on the 29th and 30th. When I was asked where I wanted the $5.00 to goto I didn't see B.a.m.a or any Mini clubs in the list.

What did everyone else do on this?

Plan on driving over Thursday to tour the Museum.

Will be there all weekend (first time to Barber btw)

OK, who has tickets for Barbers next weekend? Are you going all weekend or just on Saturday when the MINIs are running?

I'll be driving up Thursday from Columbus, Ga to tour the museum.

There all weekend (staying at a motel in Homewood).

I follow the #2 and #4 Daytona Prototype Teams as well.

Then .... long drive home on Monday.
