Wine sampling at MOTD 2009

Ok so the beer drinkers have their Brew Swap, so why not have wine sampling for the wino's.
This year we will have our first annual Dragon Wine Tasting a gathering of wine connoisseurs that can bring a sampling for others to tempt their palates with?

Souvenir wine glasses will be provided by AutoXCooper.com to the first 100 wino's that bring a bottle of their favorite wine for everyone to taste.

Note: For those that would like to participate, please bring at least one 750ml bottle of your favorite wine that you would like to share with others.
While a limited number of souvenir wine glasses will be provided by AutoXCooper.com it is recommended that you bring small sample cups (3oz.).
If you believe that this is something that you would like to take part in please indicate your intentions below so that we may properly prepare.
MD20/20 and Night-Train or any other type of 7-11 wine does not count as wine samples.

Revision: Due to popular demand twist off OK to bring, the masses will judge the quality.

UPDATE: As of 29MAR09 the following have indicated an interest in bringing a bottle of wine...

Interesting, but I guess I have to leave the PlumpJack 2003 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon that scored 93-95 points in the The Wine Advocate home. It has a screw cap.

Ooh. The "no screw cap" rule would also eliminate my favorite daily drinker - 2006 Sobon Estates Old Vine Zin... Your loss.

This was the #1 suggestion at last year's Brew Swap. I'll be in touch with Mark and Matt.

talked it over with cabriopilot and we are gonna have this immediately after the Welcome Dinner in the Rec Hall / Adventure Center. The same time the Cigar Salon is going on outside on the porch. Just bring you favorite wine and maybe small sampling cups. I'll work up a page of detail shortly.

I think it would be fun to have a table of Wines we found on the way to MOTD. Last year after hours of interstate I found a bill broad to a small winery in TN. Was a great road, great wine, more great roads. I love shopping at small family owned wineries and try to stop at all of them I find along the way.

Well I'll be, I never knew they had a fan club. Interesting. But, I guess if they have a fan club for marshmallow Peeps, then anything is possible. My post was originally intended as a joke, but I'll see what I can do. Count me in.

I don't even know if I'll come to MOTD, but this is something I'd come to. I just gave away all of my Andretti (yes, Mario) wine at Christmas (the Chard was meh, anyway), but there's a lot of good Michigan wine that we could bring a few bottles of. Mom told me at Christmas that there were wine growers and bottlers in each of the 50 US states - if it's true you could have quite a good selection if everyone brings their local favorites.

Lets just say that you can normally only find it in the freezer section of your corner gas station.

Who needs MD 20/20 when you have a nice little winery in your neck of the woods.

Brotherhood Winery
