5th Annual Midnight on the Dragon
If a long day of motoring and a full stomach from the Dragon Banquet do not cure your late night insomnia, come along and join us for some Midnight Dragon Slaying! This will be a fun, memorable, and especially kool time for sober and alert night-owls to stay up late and Wake the Dragon!
Meet us at the General Store at Fontana Village Saturday night, May 4th at 11:00pm. We will depart Fontana at 11:15pm to zip down Hwy 28 to the Crossroads of Time (Deal's Gap) for a short break. Folks staying in Robbinsville or Tapoco may meet the larger group at Deal's Gap parking lot around 11:45pm.
One minute after 11:59pm on Saturday, the clock strikes 00:00, the rally lights come on, and Dragon Slaying will begin. We will run up US-129 past the overlook to the gravel parking lot near Tabcat Bridge, enjoy the stars and moonlight for a bit, and then motor on back to our cozy beds.
T-shirts are available at http://www.minineo.net/motd08. A thread regarding the T-shirts can be found here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=133131.
Proceeds for this event benefit United Cerebral Palsy.

Trust me... it doesn't JUST look like fun... it's one of the coolest things I've ever done....Originally Posted by wikedgolf

Just don't get in front of me. I tend to blind people.
I usually actually run ahead of the pack and hide out on a corner with some friends, watching people zoom by.

If you think the Dragon is fun during the day, you gotta do the Midnight Run.

Ditto on blinding people though, those 4 IPF's tend to be a bit brightish!!

My morning commute always gets me pumped, so I'm considering this frenzied, darkened bliss. Maybe I'll be good this year and join the fun. No rally lights though.

This is "the" event IMHO. Like Sarcux said, it's fun to get there early and stop at any of the pull-offs then "greet" the group as they run the Dragon, then follow them down to the light show at the end. I think of Midnight on the Dragon as the closing ceremonies.

Count me in (so this is 'registering'
)...
Depending on how my wife feels about riding instead of driving, we'll probably have MINIQue loaded!

Got the shirt and I'm ready to go but I'm still looking for a LED sign that will work off the cigarette lighter.
I like the one I saw in one of the Midnight on the Dragon videos on YouTube.
Any ideas?

Just use an inverter with a regular 120v sign.Originally Posted by cabriopilot
