FREE @ MOTD: 1st Gen OEM Nav Upgrades & Tweaks

Hey everyone,

I'll be bringing my laptop, my I-BUS adapter, and all of my NavOS upgrade discs with me to MOTD.

So, I'll be able to do the following:
  • Upgrade your NavOS to the latest version
  • Modify your "location" (e.g. change from "no location" mode back to USA)
  • Recode your languages (permanently, not "hacked" by swapping language files). I can set your Nav to have any languages you want! (from the ones available)
  • Other small tweaks
However, please note I will not be providing updated map discs. Those are commercial software and need to be purchased from NavTeq or your dealership.

Anyway, find me at MOTD and I'll be glad to help you out. I'll be staying at the Inn at Fontana.

NOTE: The reason this is for 1st Gen MINIs only (R50, R52, R53) is because the Nav system in the 2nd Gen MINIs is a totally different animal... can't help you much there, sorry!

Very nice of you to offer this service! (PS: If anyone needs an OBC fault code read, I'll have my scan tool with me)

Sounds great... I do have a more current version of the firmware, but a permanent solution as well as get my no location issue fixed would be welcome!

I'll be glad to help. What version of the firmware do you have now? A brand new one just came out for the MKIVs.

They stopped releasing updates for the CD-based OEM MINI Nav systems a while ago... but in the event you don't have the final version, I will be able to update you to it. I might also be able to tweak the same things (like the languages)... at least I'm willing to try.

What version of the NavOS do you have now?

It's easy to find out what OS version you currently have... just go to the Settings screen (from the Main Menu), and it should be visible there.

It should look something like 3-1/63 or 4-1/80. Post what your Nav has, and that will help a lot!

I have an '06 with the NAV. Can the upgrades be applied? If so, I do want to find you. I am anxious for the update that will make the legal screen go away after so many seconds automatically.

Yep! I can help you with that.

I shouldn't be too hard to find - I'm staying at Fontana Village (at the Inn), and I'll be helping out with the registration, the info desk and the farewell dinner. Not to mention, ask around a bit and I'm sure someone will have an idea where I am.

Super. I'm from Texas (TX Plates), 2006 MCS Convertible with JCW, Pepper White with a pole dancer on my attenna. I'm also the one with all the flashing blinking lights all over my MINI. As it stands right now I'll be in Cabin 1036 at Fontana Village.

Awesome. My MINI is pretty easy to spot too:

Edge,

Thanks loads for the quick lesson and upgrades for my 04 nav unit!

Everything is working great. I especially like the fact that I don't have to do any more nav upgrade disk modifications to keep the British voice mod.

Now off to the X5 boards to search out the software and hardware that I need to further tweak my system!
