mielnicki: Did I mention that I'll also sell tie-dyed t-shirts and share the profits with the Club? That's if I live through the experience...

Come on 1000!

Hey, the THP will be there no matter what, and we've got radios so we'll kinda know where they are. If we don't drive too insanely, the THP issue will be SOMEWHAT mitigated. Still, that's not a complete reason to not attend.

I do think the cost is keeping some people from registering for the 'official' events.

I know this year I only signed up for monte carlo, brew swap, and the farewell dinner - since I'm camping, we'll keep some of the costs down and grill the other two nights.

The event planner not being up probably hurts a little, too - perhaps some people are waiting a bit to see the 'official' schedule of events. PLUS, there hasn't been a lot of discussion of the various prizes and whatnot that will be given away. That will entice a few people who are on the fence.

I personally think that we already have enough MINI's and people going to make it a great time.

That being said, I did ask some of the locals if they were going to the Dragon this year and the ones that said no, said it was for the following reasons:
  1. No spare funds
  2. No time off from work
  3. MINI not ready (in the shop)
  4. Never heard of the Dragon (not a real MINI enthusiast)
  5. No place to stay while at the Dragon
  6. Did not want to register (but may come anyway)
  7. Family matters (wedding)
  8. Wasn't sure if they would have fun
And my answer to the above excuses is:
  1. Borrow from your kids college fund
  2. Call in sick
  3. You have two months to get it fixed
  4. I just told you about the Dragon
  5. Sleep in your MINI
  6. Come anyway
  7. Weddings will come and wedding will go, but MOTD is only one week a year
  8. You'll have fun, trust me

Besides, unless you're the Mother/Father of the Bride/Groom or IN the wedding...they probably won't miss you not being there...especially if you still send a gift!

I work at a University so that I don't ever have to worry about a college fund.

Doesn't that then mean that you have no college fund to steal (I meant borrow) from?

i notice that the event planner is 'sorta' up. Although it shows me as registered for the welcome dinner, and not the farewell dinner. My reciept definitely says farewell dinner!

Hopefully the event planner will get straightened out and more people will register!

Just put your MINI in the living room and keep it running, that should keep the house warm!

Okay, that was out there - it sounded funny in my head at least!

Ya know, the Mini's HK sound system really fills the living room with sound!

Oh CRAP - you were kidding, weren't you?!? Shoot, now I've gotta replace that big front window...

I thought we were saving the bells and whistles for when we break 150 MINIs?
