Ok! I just got off the phone with Fontana Village and they tell me that they have 80 Hotel rooms and 150 cabins all filled for the MINIs On The Dragon.
So where are you guys/gals and why haven't you registered yet?
By my calculations at 2 persons per room/cabin that would be about 460 Miniacs (conservative count).
This isn't even including the surrounding hotel, motels, holiday inn, camp grounds or just plain sleeping in your MINI.

Weekends are always slower than weekdays for posting on NAM.

Don't fret, by this time Tuesday, I bet the numbers will have doubled.

Wow, the numbers keep climbing. I wonder how many of those people know about the MOTD patch sale to benefit Easter Seals? That thread is RIGHT HERE.

We currently have about 82 patches sold. Sure would be great to break last year's count of 120!

(This has been a friendly and temporary thread hijack on behalf of a good cause. We now return to regularly scheduled programming. )

I bet we see a spike in registration today as people get into the office and hit NAM after being away for the weekend... "OMG! Registration is OPEN!"

Alright, this is my first MOTD and I hope...nay...DEMAND, that we have a record turn out.

I hereby authorize all NAM members to change the "Home" option on all navigation units they encounter in MINIs to the Fontana Village address.

Go go go!

Yeah, but we had to rush last year for fear of not reg'ing in time for some of the dinners that had limited seating. This year with the tent its not a issue, might account for less of a rush.

There are currently 260 people and 132 MINIs registered for the event!

49 days and 5 hours to go!

It's quite possible, but IIRC dinners were capped at 350?? and we still had regs coming in at a steady clip.....

My theory is that the event planner is not available yet, people use it to plan their schedules.

That is very possible. There are always people who come without registering, but the number is never this high!

I went to my first MOTD without registering only because I really wasn't sure what it was all about.
But the importance of registering was quite clear after I got there and could not attend some of the organized events.
We have a good number of MINI's and owners right now to make it just the right size to get to know everyone.
Keep in mind that last years photo at the dam only had just a little over 100 MINIs.
