May we have Channel 7 sub 1 for Friday Devils Triangle Drive and Sat AutoX?

I strongly advise against assigning the same channel number twice, especially on channel 7 as it is the "main" MINI channel used for driving (under 7/21). If anyone tries to use 7/1 at the same time that someone else is using 7/21, then they will be cutting each other off.

The subchannel feature is to ensure "privacy", but it still uses the same frequency range.

 

This is true, the Devils Triangle Drive and Sat AutoX are events that will be far enough away from the Fontana/Dragon I don't think it will be a problem....

 

...provided of course that they don't leave their radios on 7/1 when they come back... and interrupt communications for those out driving the Dragon or other roads...

 

To be honest with you it would not make any difference, with the amount of people using Ch7 regardless if they forgot to change to a different "CH" no one will be able to have an uninterrupted conversation.

I've just looked in to it and found that my kids' cheap-o radios (which I was planning on borrowing for MOTD) don't support subchannels...

What happens in that situation? I'm afraid that means that I'll be able to hear everyone else but no one will be able to hear me!

Not a great situation to be in at the bottom of a ravine hanging from my seat belt...


Yeah, yeah, I'll try not to roll off a cliff, but there doesn't seem to be much point in bringing these radios if that's the way that they are going to work...

The Target store near my house has the Motorola FSR radios for about 30 dollars and they are a great investment for all your future MINI drives.
We use them all the time on our group drives around North and South Carolina, so I'm confident that you'll find them quite handy for drives other than MOTD.

geezz...sorry you guys, the "directory" has already been printed. I'd try to hand write you guys in, but I'd have to do it 350 times...I'll see what I can do..

 

If you have the list on PDF I can print some if you would like! I have card stock and a paper cutter...
