MOTD Travel Advisory - Louisville

Hi all,

Ok, many of you may already be aware of this, but it was news to me... There will be ALOT of traffic headed out of Louisville on Sunday May 5th due to the Kentucky Derby. One of my friends travels to the Derby every year, and he told me that I would be "crazy" to travel through Louisville on the 5th...

I will be headed back to Wisconsin, so Louisville was on my route. I will probaby head back via Cincinnati on the way home. I would recommend anyone headed back to the upper Midwest on Sunday consider the same...

Travel safe...

-Ed

Just my two cents, I used to live in Indianapolis and would very often travel south to visit my family. There is very, very little difference in going Indy>Cincy bypass>Lexington instead of Indy>Louisville>Lexington. I would take either way just depending on if I was leaving from work or my home. Just be sure to take the bypass around Cincy, you won't hit a bit of traffic unless there is an accident.

Thanks for the feedback! I was going the Louisville route only because that's the way Yahoo mapped it for me! I will probably go the Cincy route on the way down also just to become familiar with it. Especially now with your feedback indicating similar times...

Thanks again,
Ed

That's the way I'm going, Ed...not because of the traffic, but because I need to stop for some Skyline Chilli. Yum.

The traffic is just a better excuse, now.
