I might kill some Wild Turkey at some point while up there. Better put it on the list, being a dry county and all.

Quote: Thanks, Phil! I saw that MINI up close and personal, and it had a LOT of bear fur stuck to it!

I wonder if there'll be as many wild turkeys pecking at the ground along the sides of the roads as there were last year? If anyone's "lucky," we could have a Roadkill Party!

* Note to self: keep a good supply of large Hefty trash bags, "just in case....."*

I meant wild turkey road-kill food, silly girl! Bear-kill is probably greasier than most would like!

Quote: most cabins do not have external faucets, at least I haven't seen any. There will be a central car washing area at Fontana Village that will have a hose. BYO washing stuff including a bucket....and patience. There's only one hose (or there has been in past years), so everyone shares.
While you will still have to B.Y.O.T. (bring your own towels) and I can't yet promise whether or not there will be more than one hose (we're working on it though),

I CAN tell you that you'll have everything else you might need to wash your MINI at the car wash area....
buckets, soap, mitts, QD, etc.

I'll personally be there to see to it!

This is a quick list collated from this thread and others:

Vomit bags in case you/passenger gets sick
Bug spray
Make sure you get a radio that has subchannels
FRS Radios (Family Radio Service)
Rain gear/umbrella - it does typically rain this weekend
Camp chairs is really good, so you can sit and look at all the cars (also a good way to save your parking space)
Car wash stuff
Bug spray
Laptop
Batteries/charger for electronics
A flashlight is a MUST (there aren't any street lights out there, and it is pretty dark without someone's rallye lights on!)
Cash (the vendors area did take credit cards, but cash is always the best)
If you got it, a map of the area (the free welcome stuff is REALLY good)
Sunscreen (so your forhead/scalp/driving arm doesn't get burned when the \line sunroof is open)
Of course extra clothes - Sometimes it is cold, some times it is warm
Lots of MINI/Mini shirts!
Food (if you are staying in the cabins at Fontanna, you do have a kitchen with plates etc, so you can actually make lunch/breakfast)
A frying pan (if you are going to cook, you would be better bringing your own.
A griddle for making breakfast
USB cable for cameras
Air freshener
Music for the road & DVDs
Clothes & extra shoes
Radar Detector
A good book
A board game or two
Ant spray - Our cabin had ants last year. No big deal.. a few sprays gets rid of them. Cheaper to bring it than buy it at the little General Store
Bath Towel (extras if you have a full cabin)
Cell Phone (not that these really work well up there, but more for the ride there and back)
Cell Phone Charger
Pop Tarts/Granola bars (quickie breakfast!)
Toiletries
Sweater/sweatshirt/jacket
Coffee filters, coffee & coffeemaker
Portable dvd player (if your cabin lacks a tv) for late night or rainy days
Extra car key - just in case...
Compressor
Batteries (did I mention batteries?)
Booze (Graham County is a Dry County)
Clean underwear for passenger on Dragon
Medical supplies (e.g.: I am diabetic)
Reflective triangles, Road flares
Snacks/drinks & Cooler
Tie-Downs to keep stuff from shifting
Tire plugging kit and/or fix-a-flat/slime
Tire gauge (the good type, you know!)

Regarding the ants, a quick call to Fontana's front desk will result in them sending someone to take care of the spraying, so you needn't bring the ant spray, unless you enjoy that sort of thing.
