Now, let's see. KY Jelly and a football? Darn, I don't have a monkey! And I've always wanted to see that . . .

Hi all,

I highly recommend bringing cinch locks for your seatbelts! I don't like wearing a harness and they are the perfect answer. (plus they cost a lot less than a harness)

The first year we went to the Dragon I could not believe how sore I was from riding the Dragon and I wasn't even the driver! The second year my husband bought us cinch locks and they made a huge world of difference. You wear them tight and low on your hips and they keep you from getting tossed all over the place in the car. I think they are the best invention since sliced bread!

We bought ours from CG Locks - Their website it http://www.cg-lock.com/

I even have a $5.00 off coupon code from our MINI club that anyone is welcome to use. When you buy your lock(s), simply type in the code "PittStopMini" (without the quotes) , you will save $5.00 on your purchase. Please feel free to pass on the code to anyone you'd like.

Okay, didn't mean for this to turn into an info-mercial - I just love these locks! LOL

Motor Safe!

Quote: I was actually thinking about bringing a case of those logs. They are about $12 bucks a case at Costco. They are much less of a mess and easier to deal with - no lighter fluid needed, etc. I figured I could always burn them at home if I don't use them at Fontana.
Oh, good idea to get the logs at Costco, vg! Thanks! Another thing I suggest is to bring your favorite pillow and a blankie. I always do and it helps make the cabin more comfy.

Packing Lists! One for going to the Dragon and one for returning home. These are invaluable for making sure everything makes it back and forth.

? Not sure what that means?

I did encounter black bears two nights on 129 though... Not close calls.

There was a MINI that had a run-in with a bear, leaving some of its fur in the MINI's front right headlight area, if I recall correctly.

I think the MINI that met the bear was CR, but it was a tintop, not a vert.

Your interpretation has me giggling!

After reading this thread .. I'm thrilled and excited and terrified of all that MOTD has to look forward too. I'm counting the days!! .. although I'm not sure how to get all the "things to bring" actuallly IN the MINI. Thanks for so much great info for us Newbies!

How's this? Cropped the heck out of it so you can see the hair better.

Thanks, Phil! I saw that MINI up close and personal, and it had a LOT of bear fur stuck to it!

I wonder if there'll be as many wild turkeys pecking at the ground along the sides of the roads as there were last year? If anyone's "lucky," we could have a Roadkill Party!

* Note to self: keep a good supply of large Hefty trash bags, "just in case....."*
