I bet there will be almost 900 @ MOTD. There are a few out there that don't register for this event.

My buddy and I are 2 of those -- when did the change come about? I wanted to register.

The decision was made a few days ago to change it so that all regs ended last night. :-(

You can still come to the Dragon, just won't be part of the "official" count.

You can PM or email Mark, and explain that by changing the reg, he pulled the rug out from under you.

Steve

Well, it's just weird that there was no announcement on the "latest news" page. I'm sure it was noted some other places, but when a deadline is shortened (as opposed to just extended), a lot of people (as you pointed out) are going to get "screwed". Not everyone checks the forum on a daily basis -- and even some, like myself who check it obsessively, are not going to see a deadline change -- as was the case here.

But, oh well, at least I can still register the 8 Ball.

Not if you bookmark the MOTD discussion forum, or if you know the link from memory. For example, I memorized that the forum number is 176... and I can go directly to that link from any browser.

Post delteted. I memorized tons of NAM links but most people do go to check for new posts in a certain thread being that it is an upcoming event

i wish it were otherwise, but unfortunately in my job it is not uncommon to be told at the last minute that I will be working over a given weekend. The longer I wait to register/pay for events, the less likely that it'll happen -- although still possible, unfortunately. that's why my Outlook was set to warn me of the last day for Monte Carlo and MOTD registrations.

When was it decided to close registration early? I certainly didn't see any mention of it, and I am on here a LOT.

It's not a matter of snoozing...it is a matter of noting what the closing date was, then discovering it has changed.

I think all NAM members should have been mass-PMd as a heads-up to those wishing, (for whatever personal or financial reasons), to register near the original closing date.

+1
You should at least give the procrastinators a fighting chance

In all fairness to Mark, this is a tremendous undertaking, and sometimes things don't go quite as planned. I know eager2own has now been registered, and I am sure Mark will do what he can for anyone that may have been affected by the change.

It was posted in this thread! here:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...&postcount=357

It was also on the main MOTD page.
