It has been done, but that don't mean it can't happen again.

Maybe I will buy one and charge for rides! Get your tickets early.

Ola gang!

Looks like our small group will be ~50 strong (not bad for an unsponsored inaugural event!). There is an unknown quantity of Ohio Dubsters also attending. And some folks may just 'show up'!

Do I understand the MOTD group photo is now at 1000? If so, we may need to give you more time. We had originally planned to arrive at the dam at 1130. We may need to eat lunch first now. With 400+ Minis, and our 50-75 'cherman' carz, we might crowd even that large field below the dam!

See you guys soon! I have enjoyed getting to know you!. IF someone needs an Audi contact, write me a line and I'll send you my cell#. That way, we can talk and deconflict anything that pops up on radar, anad share any news or intel. We'll also be on 9-14 on the FRS radios. If we change, I'll post it hear.

Don't say that too loud, my dad constantly threatens to bring his H1 to the dragon and run over all the mini's

I know he's nicer than that, but trust me the hummer club is at least as nuts about their trucks as we are about our mini's.

Wait til you get strafed by TT's and RS4's!

OK, seriously, we're about 40+ cars, so a small gaggle. We'll have fun, and try not to break into any 'flights' you have running on the Dragon. And yes, we'll be on Cherohala and US-28, just like last year during Rotards weekend, and the year before.... (you get the point: we like to mingle!).

See y'all soon!

I got to meet TT on Saturday morning. He came by the NSW cabin & brought us some great decals. There were also dome Audis hanging out at Deals Gap to see the Midnight Ride off. Very nice folks

Ms. Mouse and I were staying at Audi Central in Alcoa. What a really, really nice bunch of folks! As nuts about their cars as we are, and as friendly and welcoming. From my point of view, I'd welcome them and hang out with them any time.

Good folks. And they seemed to be really, really close to having a good time.

Thanks for the sticker inTTruder! I got a few comments on Saturday and Sunday after putting it on my window.

Very nice to meet you and thanks for showing me around your engine bay. I love my MINI, but am still very fond to that 1.8t engine.. . .

Send some pics my way if the ones you took at our cabin turn out good.

I had a really nice conversation with the guy that owns that car. It's a BEAST! 400hp, all-wheel drive, and more. He designed and sculpted that scoop himself and it's a functional ram air scoop. He's a cartoonist by trade and asked if I thought MINI folk would want some small sculpted cartoony MINIs. I've seen one he did of a TT and it's a hoot. He caught the character of the car, kid of like the old Millar CarToons of my misspent yoot.

He did a pencil sketch of my car that absolutely nailed it's personality. He's looking for some links to MINI pics to use for inspiration.

I agree with the above - good bunch of guys!!! A group of Audi's got caught behind a bit of traffic on the Dragon, and I caught up with them. When the traffic was able to move to the side, they did, and away they went, with me following behind. They certainly were able to hold their own!! I also chatted with a bunch of them at Tabcat Bridge! Cool peeps!!

Thanks to ALL the friendly Mini folks! Met several in FV, and waved at all y'all on The Dragon and elsewhere. Spunky and Ms. Mouse (Dan and Beverly? did I get that right?) were at the Jameson, and we sure enjoyed sasying hi.

Y'all had a great event. Thanks for the gracious hospitality, the welcomes, and the friendly rivalry. We had 42 cars this year: we're going for 100 for 1-4 may 2008! See y'all there!

Here's some pics!

Enjoy!

BTW- I drove the TT-109 (black, hood scoop, 3.2L w/ DSG 6spd gearbox). INCREDIBLE: 0-6- in under 4s, 11" rims keep it planted, and it HOWLS at full throttle! YeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaa!

See you next year, and allaround.

Wowzers! 1st weekend in May is turning into quite a busy weekend for the Dragon, 500ish MINIs and 100ish Audis! Looks like we need to start booking our cabins for 09'

I see you snapped off a pic of Soulfire

as well as a few other MINIs

Soulfire was cool, as were all your clan. We plan to share the w/e again next year. See you guys around. Maybe we'll get better weather, adn we can all wave as we pass to and fro. We'll plan more side trips to Bryson City and Asheville too. Should keep things loose!

Thanks again!
