MINI JCW 2026 – Owner experience (steering turning behavior & tire specification)

Hello everyone,

I would like to share my ownership experience with a MINI JCW 2026 purchased in Kuwait.

This post is not intended to attack the brand. I am simply documenting my experience and asking other owners for technical clarification.

Steering / Turning behavior

From the first days of driving the car, I noticed that the steering lock appears limited, which results in a wider turning maneuver than I expected for a compact MINI.

To verify whether this was specific to my car, I visited the showroom and checked another JCW 2026 vehicle there. The steering behavior appeared similar.

Please see the video attached for the turning wheel of the tires.
This video shows the maximum steering lock.

Tire specification

The vehicle is equipped with 205 width tires.

In real driving conditions, the ride feels rigid and noisy on uneven roads.

Also, please see the pictures attached showing the type and size of the tires currently installed on the car.

Communication with seller and manufacturer

Before posting here, I attempted to resolve this through official channels.

I contacted the companies responsible for the vehicle as well as the local retailer who sold the car, but unfortunately I have not yet received a clear technical explanation regarding the steering specifications or tire configuration.

Question to other JCW owners

If you own a 2026 JCW, I would appreciate your feedback:

• Does your car have a tight or wide turning circle?
• What tire size came from the factory on your car?
• Have you noticed similar steering behavior?

I am trying to understand whether this is normal for this model or if there might be differences between markets.

Any technical insight from other owners would be appreciated.

Thank you.

First off, you have not disclosed what model you have, 3 door hatch F66 - Countryman U25 - 5 door F65, etc.
Steering on my 2026 F66 JCW feels perfectly fine to me. Steering radius is as follows: F66 is 36.4 ft. F65 is 37.4 ft. & U25 JCW is 38.7 ft. Find a parking lot and measure your turning radius to see if in spec.
My JCW came with 215 45 R 17 91H Vredestein Quadtrac Pro M+S. I did not want 18" or 19" tires.
There are no photos or videos attached.
