ICE Gas Mileage
Gas Mileage
Two items...
I noticed after the last software update that the digital system screen response time and initial boot up when starting the car is significantly faster than it was before... nice!
Anyone having the same experience?
Also, I assume most of you have the Mini app on your phones.
This shows virtually everything about your Cooper you can imagine, including gas mileage for individual trips or cumulatively for periods of time.
The reason I mention this is I just happened to look at a trip we took during the holidays, maybe around 125 miles.
This was highway driving, using the distance cruise control, which is one of my favorite features on my Cooper.
My mileage for this trip was 55.7 MPG, which is phenomenal!
I decided to check a longer trip we did earlier this past Fall. This was a combination of mountain and highway driving, also using the distance cruise control. The mileage was 57+ MPG.
I've had a variety of cars in the past, some were known for their very good mileage, but nothing comes close to this.
I am very impressed!
Having said that, my mileage driving short trips around town in the cold weather is what one would expect... maybe 28 - 32 MPG.
Not bad, but not as spectacular as the road trips.
I do keep the Cooper on the newly purchased NOCO Genius 1 battery charger/maintainer. It works perfectly and keeps the AGM battery topped off for my next drive.
Enjoy those Minis!

Those numbers are insane for a Cooper. Getting over 50 MPG on highway runs is basically hybrid territory. I haven't noticed the screen boot time getting faster after my last update, but I'll have to pay more attention tomorrow.
With mileage like this, I don't even mind having to use premium fuel!
I do have a Roar Pedal electronic throttle controller installed, but I doubt this makes any difference.
So far, so good with this fun little Cooper...
