Suggestions for MOTD 2007!
I enjoyed the event - I am not going to read all of the 14 or so pages - so if it redundant - sorry.
-Don't serve fish, bad choice for the masses. plus, I hate fish.
-The dessert social was a little hap hazard but a good try.
-COMMUNICATION - We sat in a ice cream social and wanted to see the drive in movie (parked in front) NOBODY MENTIONED THE MOVIE HAD STARTED, WAS GOING TO START - NOTHING. I paid to watch credits.
-More in the panoramic photo, not as many minis as MOTD3 it seems.
-Better drive planning - we went to Dilsboro and it was fun, wish ther was more.
-Chili cook off - get enough chairs for everyone that paid to sit and eat - I'm tired of standing at these events or stalking diners for chairs.
- MINI Swap meet - get rid of our tired parts.

MOTD 4 looked quite fantastic with all the vendors and setup we had. I was actually at the Dragon today and there was a big Subaru thing there, but it looked quite disorganized and fragmented compared to what we had this year.

I am on my way home from MOT. They did the raffle thing too, but you got some tickets in your registration package, that was mailed to your house. You could buy more tickets at the event for a buck apice. All prizes were on display at the welcome event and again at the giveaway. Each prize had a basket or bucket or baggie to drop your ticket into. If you were a Cooper owner and could not use a pully, you did not put a ticket in the bucket. That way at the give away, you got what you could use, not something you did not want. If you could not be present at the giveaway you wrote your name on the back of the ticket, and they held it for you.
It went fast, and anyone who was not present arranged for someone to pick up your prize. It worked great, and they gave away a ton of prizes in a very short time.
Just my two cents.

They had that sort of set up in Tyler, TX at the Promini Car Show several months ago. That's how I won my stainless steel brake lines. It did work great. I got to put tickets in on what I really wanted or could use on Chickadee. Several people in my immediate group won nice prizes, too.
I just saw that the Tar Heels club announced that they raised $1600 for charity, and the Off-Topic Band Jam raised $300, but we still haven't heard how much money DCMM has given to the Make a Wish Foundation?
A couple more tiny suggestions......a booth set up amongst the venders that sells snacks, drinks, funnel cake, etc. Also, a booth set up selling lady stuff like jewelry. Some Renaissance type items, pins, etc would have made a big showing.....Dragon pins, earrings, rings, etc. I'd have sure bought some.

Also they now have a pontoon boat that handles about 25 people that has 1.5 hour guided tours for about $15 per person. As we get closer, maybe we can set up 3 to 4 fix times on Thur, Fri. and Sat. on the event planner. They said they can even do package with a box lunch too.
I knew that something was missing from MOTD all these years, but I could never quite figure it out.
But now I know the single most important thing that MOTD has lacked is funnel cake.

old Chevy's are worth too much these days to burn
how about plain old fashion wood (btw: Fontana sells wood bundles)

An elephant ear might be the one thing that could making my next MoTD just *that* much better.. hmmm
