Ladies at the Dragon: Run and Luncheon - MOTD-2007
Of course we have. This is not only one close to our hearts, but close to about every woman we know. As an OBGYN RN I see A LOT of this. It is rather sad, and I wish I could do more about it. I will start talking to some of the hospital reps here and get some info for people. Like I said, I know it is early, but it is never too early to start. It just happens to be the end of Nurse's week, so there is PLENTY of breast ca stuff hanging around (why at nurses week we need self exam brocures?? dunno!) but I got tons sitting on a chair here. I will grab them and keep them. I know a bunch of people involved in the DC/Balt. area with the ACS and can get some info/graphics permission...Why not start now!
I think we will have a BLAST next year, and may be surprised at the turnout! Great thought again!

I would love to join this event next year. We are hoping to make a vacation of MOTD 07. My parents may be moving in with us this summer. My dad has had 2 bouts of cancer and a stroke.Their home is way too much for my mom to care for anymore, dad can't help with anything. That being said all hangs on the state of his health a year from now. I have 2 sister-in-laws who are breast ca survivors as well. One is 17 years and the other 4 years into beating their cancers!!

This is one great idea for a charity MINI event.
I don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but BMW does that annual drive for breast cancer. I bet you could somehow get them involved to help with handouts, materials, etc. Maybe they might want to provide pink stripes for you gals?

But I'm not commenting on the " women drivers"

I am Sure there will be some 'other' MINIS joining up in this run. and we really can't just keep it to women, really. Cancer effects everyone even if we are doing a run to support breast cancer. I am sure we can organize something fantastic for next year, since we are starting early enough. I have a few idears for a male shirt as well...along the same lines of the women's one but of course without the woman! LOL
But then again, keeping it to women tackling the dragon (ok I know we wern't planning on driving on it) but having only women..i dunno. it may be cool. I am just babbling now. I am so tired. This week has been pure craziness. I HATE full moons and labor rooms....

All suggestions are more than welcome, but we three will be making the final decisions. We want to create a Ladies Drive that excludes the actual Dragon, to accommodate those who are not as comfortable driving that portion of 129.
It WILL be a Ladies Event. Men are welcome to support it by sending donations and by encouraging their gals to participate. It's too early to get down to brass tacks, but I want all y'all to put on your thinking caps so we can have a fun and meaningful event, and motor for a worthy cause.
Thanks.
I wasn't trying to say that men had to be included. I think it is a GREAT idea to have a women only drive. I just happen to see a few men posting, so I didn't want to exclude them! But I will NOT let my husband ANYWHERE near my car when we go on the drive !!
