Seeing as how we have PLENTY of time now to figure it all out! I think we can come up with some kickass graphics for tees, clings, whatever! I am willing to start looking around for some idears. I have a few in my head that are pretty cool, but like I said, I gots to refine them and then shoot them off to my pals the artists...aka sagworks and ssallykat (sorry to out you two.LOL)

Hey I'm kinda new but would be interested in going. I too have a couple of breast cancer survivors in my family. Lost a close friend two years ago. I support.

My MINI should be past the break-in by then! Right now I'm coming up on the 800 mile mark woohoo. Beer swap? Stoli girl here.

Fantasic idea.. the girls should all get together. Sounds like a great route too. I'm as in as I can be this far in advance...... My mother is also a cancer survivor (not breast) and my sister in law is currently battling both breast and cervical cancers. I am sure this is an event that will have meaning for a lot of us.

Definitely sounds like a neat idea! I'd be up for it. Would you take the Cherohala to Tellico plains? That is a great drive - long sweepers with scenic vistas...

No, we'll take a shorter route, still to be determined (we have about a year to plan it).

Of course this is too soon to know, but I kind of figure that the Luncheon will be on Friday, so as not to conflict with auto-xing, which will probably be on Saturday. I figure we could meet at Fontana at 11 AM, which would give those in the Parade plenty of time to do their parading and get to the meeting point in time. I'll be going back to the area this summer and again in the fall, so I'll do some timing of various routes to keep it to a nice, but not an all-day, drive.

And for all the idea gals out there, I am an artist, so I will want to see lots of great graphics for this event, hint hint!

Clover, it is possible that the autocross may need to move to Friday for a better venue. Don't know for sure but will also be one of those things in progress over the next year. I hope we can make both of these activities work out so we don't have to choose. We'll just do the best we can.

I was quite tickled with the number of women who ran the autocross, especially the first timers.

Let's coordinate so we don't overlap the two events. Saturday would be good for the Luncheon, too. I don't want the autocrossing gals to have to choose between the two events. We should be able to schedule time for the gals to do both!

Hi Clover!

Glad I got to meet you Saturday. Thanks for the info that you could provide. Unfortunately, we didn't stay long, but we did get in 3 runs on the Dragon. Since I didn't know when my car would come in, I had no way to plan or sign up for any events. As it was, we got there at around 2 pm on Saturday. Several people commented on how new Lily was. (True! She only had 830 miles on her when we arrived.) She looked so stock next to Stefanie's beauty!

Since we had no lodging, we decided to head out after our 3rd Dragon run and aim for Knoxville or further for that night's sleep. It gave us a good jump on our trip west, but it did cut short our time with everyone. We had a great time and the area was beautiful. I can see why it's an annual event.

Don't know if I'll make it back, but I'd sure like to. Good luck with your ladies events next year!

Brigett

Hi, Brigett! It was great to meet another Cali gal at Fontana! Did you ever manage to get your registration stuff? I hope you will make the trek back for MOTD-2007....well-worth the journey!

I think this sounds great. My mother is a survivor and I have lost several friends due to breast cancer - I stand behind this cause and would be proud to participate. I'd be happy to help out too.

I think it would be a great! event to raise money for the ACS. I unfortunatly lost my mother to pancreotic ca in '92 and have been raising money for this great society ever since. Let me know if you all want some kind of sponsership. I can put out some feelers...I know it is early, but it is NEVER too early to start!

Too early to say Im in for the drive...but I'd happy to help with graphics and such. My grandmother on my Dads side lost her battle with breast cancer shortly after I was born. Id like to help out with this event in any way I can.

Thanks, sweetie. When I get back to Los Angeles, I plan to visit the ACS office in Culver City to get some of their brochures for inspiration. Sponsorship is something I plan to investigate, so if you have some contacts or ideas, I'm very interested in your input and suggestions!

This should be one really awesome drive.

I am glad we have some artsy ones in the group. I don't have ANY ability when it comes to art. The closest I get to doing anything like that is painting a room of the house......I'm not so sure I can even do that very well !

LOL! So, when I get to the Fontana Cabin next year, you can come help me paint it! You know how I like to fluff and buff the abode....J/K!

We'll put something together that will be a lovely ride which will be our very own parade, I bet!
