With all the celebrating, happy hour-ing, cigar smoking and general carousing.....and the after effects thereof...

....I wonder how much actual driving will be done.

....also, considering this thread has been started this early....it'll be interesting, funny and fun to watch it's growth.

I'm not much of a cigar smoker or a drinker...neither is Paul. Is that a prerequisite?

Lo, it was Patron Silver tequila....and interestingly enough, I bought the same bottle and took it to the Dragon in May!

Katie, we start doing Dragon Runs early in the morning and are ready to kick back and relax by happy hour! You don't have to drink or smoke, but it couldn't hurt!

Consider it in the boot of the Mini. I'd bring you a Primani's Sandwich too but I'd probably get hungry and eat it on the way down .

I see I'm a bit late to the party, as usual, but my SO and I do plan to attend the festivities. My only problem is which MINI to bring. The MINI on the left has ... well you already know its attributes. However the mini on the right also has strong points.

3 speed hydrostatic transmission
Cruise control
Power steering
33 HP, yes not too impressive, but it has tons of torque
2 wheel independant braking (why let a computer handle stability control?)
On demand or full time 4 wheel drive
Manual locking rear differential (again who is smarter, me or a stupid computer?)
0-20 in ...oh...15 seconds!
And last but not least, the loader goes on in 2 minutes, and the bucket will hold a considerable amount of ice and beer.

Which to bring?

Definitely get one of the towbars, tow the one on the right behind the one on the left!

You just want that giant beer cooler! The one on the right weighs twice as much!

Well who would want to miss all this fun? I'll not likely be able to be there all week as some will... So, let's see... Thursday and Friday should be a pretty good time. But, I don't want to miss anyone, should I come earlier in the week instead?

I think you have enough time between now and May to make some sort of ungodly hybrid from these two vehicles.

Hmmm... Take out the rear seat, drop in that 3 cylinder diesel and I should be able to pull stumps and still pull a 6 second 0-60. Now I just need to figure out how to mount the beer bucket on the front.

Hey Lot - A beeline between Sandy Hook and the Dragon puts Madison pretty close to the middle. You and Ruby are welcome to stop over coming and going if you like, assuming the timing works of course. I'm not horning in on Ini's offer, just whatever works.

Not horning in a bit. He'll be so upset with my navigation he'll likely want to be as far away from me as possible by then.

CooperBeagle, I can't find my confirmation but think I'm there Friday and Saturday nights. I suggest you put in a hook up for the uke. I have a little amp the size of a pack of cigarettes, in fact called a "smokey", Chrisnl turned me on to. We could plug her in and scare the mountain lions away so OmToast can drink martinis without watching her back.

Slight change of plans! The St Louis Miata Club is attending an event in Asheville the same weekend & will be motoring down on Monday They may be staying at Fontana for a few days so looks like I'll arrive early in the MINI with a flock of Miatas behind me Notice I say behind me So Clo, I may be able to help you with some of that shopping

and if you get disoriented and end up driving right past the dragon and don't realize it for 3 or 4 hours, you can stay with us too!
