Thurs Night Dinner Plans for Deadline Missers?

Okay, so I'm a fence sitter... I missed a bunch of deadlines BUT now I'm coming Woohoo!

Anyhow, I can't go to the Welcome Dinner... anybody else in my boat wanna hang out and figure out something to do Thursday night and where to eat?

D'Oh! We missed some deadlines too...

for the Saturday night going away dinner and will have to find something to feed on that night.

Unfortunately we won't roll in to the ToD until Friday afternoon though, so I can't offer much insight into keeping one's self entertained on Thursday.

How about it? Anybody else out there with a spare chunk o' time that want to hang on Saturday or other nights?

Can't compare the two. This year's dinner is at a completely different location and is being catered by a completely different person than last years. The food that will be provided has been sampled by many who will at this year's event and its fantastic

Well, the worst we could do is

forage for berries & road kill...

Or, striving to be more civilized we could get a group together to head out to Maryville for some grub and then cruise back in to simply hang out with the folks dining at the Farewell Dinner. If the Farewell Dinner food is bad we could then sit around and complain about how good our dinner was...

The TGIF in Maryville was good last year, stopped for a bite on the way in - so we could try to get a group to head that way. Might have to snoop around on the web and see what options we have out there.

Some good eating in Townsend just across the Foothills Parkway to 321. Deadbeat Pete's is SLOW but excellent Mexican and some really good BBQ at Smokin Joes. I do need to double check that Deadbeat's is open.

I'm sorry some of you missed the deadlines, but we had to give the final head-count to the caterer of the Welcome Dinner by a definite deadline.

I have a suggestion, though: you could try calling Tapoco Lodge for a dinner reservation. Their dinner hours are 5:30 - 7 PM, with a set menu for each day of the week. Thursday's menu is Pork Roast. BTW, when several of us made dinner reservations there, it was quite good.

Here's the link: http://www.tapocolodge.com/dining.html

See you soon!

koolmini, you are always talking about that hot dog stand. . . .

I really do think you need to get the stand and set it up at the top of the Dragon!

Yo folks
I live in Maryville, 45 minutes from Fontanna. For Thursday night, why not come on over to the house. You get to drive back out of the dragon and through the woods. We can cookout - compare cars.

Let me know. wgeise@aol.com

Actually the food was quite good. We got zero complaints until recently,
from a few folks that just like to have something to complain about.

'nuff said.

I stayed at Tapoco Lodge during the first MINI Dragon Meet in 2003 under the American Plan, which included all meals.

They were tasty and the nicest thing: the sweet ladies in the kitchen would prepare lunch to go for enjoying a little picnic off the great area roads! Again, go to the link I posted above and check out their menus.

Yes you will be, kool, since Smokin' the Dragon Cigar Sampling Salon is an MKO-sponsored event, and YOU ARE MKO, Mr. Hotdog Stand!
