It's like a roller coaster where you get to drive you MINI on the tracks!

It's like living in a perfect town where everyone is your friend and drives a MINI.

What is it? The Tail of the Dragon is perhaps the finest road in the United States for motorcyclists and sports car enthusiasts who enjoy driving on an 11+ mile stretch of twisty road with a fantastic road surface and not a single intersection or cross road for the entire length of the Dragon. 318 curves in 11+ miles! The MINI was made to TURN and the Dragon is the perfect asphalt compliment to our fantastic little cars.

What do you do? Hang out with our MINI friends from all over the country, drive the Dragon and other great roads through the Smoky Mountains, and generally just have a great time surrounded my beautiful scenery and more MINI's than you have ever seen in your life.

How Much? The minimum cost is a $5 registration fee which will give you liability insurance for the duration of the event. You can register online right here.

Where? Deal's Gap, North Carolina. The home of the Tail of the Dragon.

Just to clarify the insurance policy. It is my understanding that the registrations provide a means of indicating that you are part of the event and are under the policy. The policy itself provides liability coverage and provides a layer of liability protection between the organizers and coordinators of the event (those making the event happen), those registered to attend, and third parties. It does not provide supplemental insurance coverage to you, those in your car, etc. in the event you are in an accident, stump your toe walking to a dinner, etc. The biggest issue it protects against are the cases where a third party involved in an accident with a registered attendee makes a liability claim against the event itself, its organizers, etc. in an attempt to increase a financial payout.

Hope this helps to clarify what the event insurance really means.

My parents are in PA and I was thinking, can I attend the Dragon without a MINI?

There's no reason why not... Nobody will pick on you or anything like that... But you might feel odd being MINIless in a sea of MINIs...

Many different individuals and car clubs go there so there’s no reason you have to have a MINI. The first year someone showed up in their VW bug. Not that did look a little funny in a sea of MINIs, but they had a great weekend.
