R60 July 2013 Orders
My dealer was talking about this as a possible issue, but mine cleared customs the day before it arrived at the Baltimore port. It's supposed to be here Monday 8-12.
So were you on the Michigan Highway?
Vehicle Distribution Center - basically it's a shop at the port that does the final inspection and installs some after factory JCW mods before shipping to your dealer. Generally takes 3-10 days depending on schedules and whatnot.

Does many(most?) accessory installs too, like driving lamps, not just JCW parts.

New Mini Countryman 2014 impressions
I've enjoyed reading this forum as we waited for our MCS 2014 to arrive, and just wanted to post a pic and offer my thoughts on our new car. Ordered it on 26 June, and it arrived at the dealer on 2 August. Not sure how it made it so fast- I used all the online tips to follow it by phone, and then once it was on the ship. I think it was just about to be built anyway for our dealer when we placed the order, if that makes sense.
We deliberated a lot over all the options and ultimately went with a Cosmic blue, Cooper S, with white top, anthracite wheels, premium package, connected, cold weather package, flat load floor, white bonnet stripes and chrome mirror caps. I think that's everything. I'm very happy with the car, and we're happy to be back in a mini again! Here's a couple of small regrets I have, though none of them are a big deal...
1) it never really sunk in before ordering that the headliner is beige, so I didn't order the anthracite headliner. In our old clubman, the stock headliner was gray, so I assumed that it was gray in the countryman. I guess the car we test drove had the anthracite headliner. Oh well.
2) I still haven't fully figured out the Mini connected stuff yet. I'm pretty sure my MA didn't give me the full AV Y cable, so that may be part of it. I'm looking forward to completely figuring everything out in the next few weeks.
I've attached a photo of our new MCS.

Darrellz, nice selection.
A lot of people don't notice the beige headliner. The online config tool doesn't mention it really well. I did notice it though and got the Polar Beige door inserts to match. I didn't want everything inside the car black.
Bt yeah, too bad this isn't more clear, or more MA's don't bring it up in the ordering process

EHans,
Yeah, the headliner is really something you won't realize unless you think to ask the MA. We only test drove once, and mainly focused on the outside color scheme.
BTW, we toyed with the white w/black top and anthracite wheels combo- your CMS looks great!
