Here is my new-to-me Shyam. Late 2006 build Justa, with sport and premium packages. Anthracite trim, panther black leatherette, and five speed gertrag. I've got some chrome mirror covers on the way. Other future mods include rear sway bar and non-RFT when these wear out. My favorite MINI so far!

What do you guys use to clean and wax your Astro black ??? I have am waxing it for the first time and I really have no idea what the best way to do so is =( also if anyone has idea about cleaning and conditioning leathers seats ???

Ive had my Astro Black 07 MCS a couple years now. I finally ffinished another project so it was Black Jacks turn. I didnt plan to buy a Mini it just happened. I just swapped my RC antenna for a VMS Racing 1.4" shorty. Still working on Audio upgrade I think Ill have a new project completed before I finish this system. This forum is a curse and a gift. Theres so many fellow Mini ppl that I see new idea and decide to change what I did. Anyone need a subenclosure for a single 10" I have I think 6 in my shed now all different volumes. But I love Astro Black it matches my Supermans hair DW drum Kit

Was I forced or was I chosen to own...
When I was shopping for my MCS I saw pics on the internet of (what I thought was) a black MCS. It was February so it was overcast. The car was clean but still looked all black. I swore I wasn't going to own another black car. But when you buy used color isn't always an option. For the price I had no reason to complain. Long story short, I did not know the color of the car I was about to buy was Astro Black. It was in the delivery bay at my local Mini dealer. The fluorescent bulbs above told the unseen story. I was a bit taken back. The smoky dark blue-gray colour was mesmerizing, it had depth. It felt more exotic than just ‘black’. I couldn’t wait to see it in a true cloud-free day. This colour has grown on me exponentially and really looks amazing in the sunlight. I don’t regret my purchase one bit. Winnie, she is my Astro Black babe.

A little forced...
So I picked up my new Astro Black Beauty 3 weeks and a day ago. When browsing for it online, I spotted this 07 MCS for a steal. It was listed as black. I don't mind black cars. SO I drove the 80 miles to look at it. I loved it and decided to buy it. It was an overcast day so I didn't see the true color.
Couple weeks later, I went back to pick it up. I decided on it because the price was something I couldn't say no to for the year and condition. When I showed up to pick it up on that bright sunny day I was shocked! I thought someone switched cars on me. It was almost blue! So deep and pretty.
I have to say I do love it. I would not have chosen white roof and mirrors but it's growing on me. I may try to do a vinyl wrap on the roof though. It has a sunroof, so maybe blackjack.
So, maybe a little forced... but still happy with it.

+1 here, 2008 ClubS Astro Black. Purchased in Wlmington DE, their pre-owned vehicle "highlights" room used to be a rollerrink so the floor is hardwood and the roof is quite high and arched. So Sir Nigel was tucked in the back corner and we had to pass several MBs, Volvos and Lexus (Lexi?) to get there and Im trying to figure out the paint, its changing hue as I change angle and get closer. So now Im confused, like is this car blue or what is this? Like the color but wish the roof were silver too, not just "C"'s. Would make the roof look cantilevered. Good paint color but I seriously like that 'burning' orange color the one guy painted his MCS. That with some House of Color flake would be off the hook, maybe for the next iteration. Perhaps a '12?
