Manual (love it!) 2018 JCW….lately I am having a harder time selecting third gear. It seems like it is almost fully there and seems to hit a bit of an obstruction. If I leave it there without pushing that extra little bit it will be in 3rd gear but will ‘pop ‘ out of gear while driving in a short amount of time. It will always go in but not without a bit of effort. Anyone had a similar issue or know of a possible resolution? I seem to recall that 1st gear used to be a bit hard to get into, but maybe not quite to the same extent, but that has resolved itself and now third gear has the issue?
I have been shifting from 2nd to 4th lately and avoiding 3rd altogether a lot of the time, but would prefer a resolution.

I would start by checking all the bushings in the links and cables, and making sure nothing is blocking the mechanisms. That would be an easy fix. If they are all solid and in good condition, then the problem would be internal to the gearbox...

 

Thanks for your input. I have checked into the shift mechanism and cable set-up and I imagine an adjustment may be necessary. It is winter here now so I will wait for some warmer weather to dig any deeper. Doesn’t seem like anyone else has experienced an issue similar to this?
