F60 Model Years
Model Years
My F60 is model year 2024. This appears to confuse some people. If I'm searching for parts on a website and enter "2024 Countryman", it's not uncommon for the site to believe I have a 3rd gen / U25. (In fact, many online sources incorrectly report the F60 was produced only through 2023.) Consequently, I sometimes have to enter my model year as 2023 to be pointed to the correct parts. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I guess Mini confused things by marketing the U25 as a 2024 model. I assume that's because it came out mid-year, which might have been too early to deem it a 2025 model? Consequently, a "2024 Countryman" could refer to either an F60 or a U25. As noted above, this creates a problem because some parts websites are set-up to associate a model year with only one version of a car -- so "2024 Countryman" defaults to U25. Hell, the survey I just received from JD Power asks me to rate my 2024 Countryman, which they believe is a U25.
(For the record, I understand that "model year" isn't necessarily the same as the actual calendar year when your car was manufactured or purchased. My car was physically built in October 2023. However, according to all the official paperwork (purchase agreement, maintenance agreement, warranty, etc.), as well as my Mini app, it's absolutely a 2024. Which makes sense because model years, like fiscal years, can start in the fall, so October 2023 would be model year 2024.)

2024 is the last year for the F60. 2025 is the first year of the U25 Countryman in the USA. What happens is when you search in the UK, they start a year earlier (most google searches). Same with most overseas MINIs. Our site is built around US cars and production, also our site is for Left hand drive when some MINIs (other countries) are right hand drive.
Watch out as most site use data loads and they too dont know the model years for USA cars. We see it all the time.
I happens all the time in overlap model years.
