2021 MINI Countryman?

The lease on our 2017 F60 S All4 expires at the end of February. Speaking with our dealer about our options, he told us that the 2021 Countryman will be coming earlier than expected. He went on to say that orders for the 2021 F60 will start in March with deliveries in May. Has anyone heard anything along these lines?

FWIW, I spoke to a second local dealer who also stated that the 2021 LCI refresh will be coming early. He expected ordering guide to be available in March.

In the US, all MINI models will become 2021 model year beginning with March 2020 production.

I think MINI Financial Services will let you extend your current lease if you have a new vehicle on order, which should bridge that gap until May delivery.

Thank you for the information/confirmation! Anxious to see the ordering guide and to find out what is new for MY2021.

Interior Updates

Here are two articles that report on the new digital dash display and infotainment system as well as the exterior updates.

Thanks for all the info. Why does it seem like they all come with the small joystick **** for the idrive instead of the touchpad?

I think they stopped offering the touchpad option on the dial after 2019.

Really? That's too bad. Don't use it very often on our 2017 F60 but when I do I find it quite handy!

Probably because a touch screen is offered now. Kinda makes the point of a touch pad obsolete. The only thing I ever tried to use my touch pad for in my M235 was when the voice recognition couldn't understand my country *** voice when entering an address lol.

I have the touch screen and the touchpad. Touchpad is very useful when searching for tunes, phone numbers, etc.

I use the touchpad all the time in my 2017 for writing an address. I can fo that a lot faster than using voice or the touchscreen. Oh well.

What is IMO a design flaw of the trans cooler mounted behind the open vent in the front bumper, leading to my coolant being dumped all over the freeway during a family road trip last week 200 miles from home , ended up with me in a 2020 Cooper S loaner for a couple hours. Have to say I hated the new Auto trans lever. I don't understand why car companies need to take something so simple, standard, and intuitive, and change it. At this point, why even have the lever at all? Just stick a few buttons on the center console for D, R, and P and leave it at that.

The 2021 LCI images and videos are out. No pricing info yet though. I like how they integrated the turn signal into the daytime running lights.

Personally, I think the whole front end revisions are butt f'ing ugly.
I don't mind my 2019 front end, although I prefer the more snubnosed look of the previous gen. But this LCI is horrible. I couldn't buy one today.

I just ordered my 2021 Countryman last week and expect delivery about September. First I heard is that the new Countryman would be showing late summer. Dealers have a lot of 2021 covertibles and 2doors in stock now.

Do you have the Order Guide for MY2021 or did your dealer help you through the process since the online Build Your Mini is still 2020 models?

The dealer guided me through it. FYI for 2021, besides some exterior changes like the front grill, the Union Jack taillights and the New Oval MDI behind the sterring wheel, the Countryman S Signature includes Navigation and Carplay capabilities, Harmon Kardon w/ 1 year Sirius XM, power tailgate and some more rim choices..

So my 2021 F60 has been built and is at the port in Zeebrugge awaiting transport. According to the WW site, it has been assigned to the Manon which departs on 9/4 and is scheduled to arrive at the port in NY on 9/20. With a little luck, we'll have it at the end of the month or very early in October.

The only info I can get is that my Mini has left the factory and is at the port. What link did you use to get the details on where and theassignment?

Wallenius Wilhelmsen (WW) is the RoRo carrier for MINI and BMW. Their website has a track and trace feature. You USED to be able to input your VIN and it would provide all sorts of info on the status including vessel name, ETA, ports of call, discharge status, etc. WW removed the ability to search by cargo ID (VIN) but there is a workaround:

Use the URL below, without the quotes of course, and append your full VIN to end after the = sign. If WW has "received" your vehicle, it will display the manifest information.
"https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/ocean.do?method=displayOceanQuickSearchResult&ocea nQuickSearchCriteria.cargoId=" (there should be no spaces in the URL, NAM is adding the space)

I will add that you can review shipping schedules (select port Zeebrugge and your destination port, most likely NY) and it will show the vessels and dates for that route.

Let me know if this works for you. It should.

Thanks Midnight Blue. I tried and it says no records found so I'm probably still waiting to be loaded at the port. It's been a week so I'll just keep trying it until I get a hit. Thanks again.

You will see records prior to your car being loaded. Once your car has officially been "booked", it should show up. First record is "Booked", followed by "Received at Terminal", then once a vessel has been assigned, that will show up too.

This is what my screen shows:
