Cracked Leaking Top Motor Mount

Got 2018 Countryman S with only 38K on it. Took it in for it's scheduled service (still under extended warrant) and they found the top motor mount was cracked and leaking. They wanted $1500 to change and and said "oh hell no". They said they don't cover them since they are a wear item. In talking to the mechanical this has been on onging issue with Mini's and they just don't cover them at all. Have any of you guys run into the same problem and is there any recourse? This there a better mount replacement? Has anyone changed one? Looks like I have to remove the headlight and some shrouds, I'm pretty handy and can do the work, just need to figure out was is need to replace or remove. Just pissed that I have to replace it with such low mileage.
