Hello all - New member here. Just installed the digital cluster and with the help of Bimmer-Remote coding services, the cluster is all setup properly. Unfortunately the coder couldn't get the parking brake light to work properly when the brake is engaged. I don't think its a coding issue from his end. For those who installed the digital cluster - Is it working for you? Did you have to do anything different? Any help is appreciated.
Hi! Omg, I can finally explain this problem to someone. I have the exact same problem as you. I installed the new digital cluster to my 2019 F60, and every function works fine except for the parking brake indicator. I have been trying to find the solution for almost a year now. After talking to multiple coders and staff from Mini dealer, here's what I found. So apparently, I bought the wrong version of this cluster. There are two versions of this cluster in the market, one with the parking brake indicator as "BRAKE" for the US market, while the other version has the indicator as a parking brake icon for Europe and Asia. So the reason that the indicator is not lighting up is that the European version will not work on US Minis. The only way to make it work is to buy the correct version of the cluster for your mini because coding CAN NOT FIX this problem! I'm not sure where you bought yours, but if you live in the US, you probably got the wrong version.
The way to find the correct version of the cluster for your car is: if your old mechanical cluster has the parking brake indicator as "PARK," then you need to buy the digital cluster that has the indicator as "BRAKE," and vice versa. The clusters with the indicator as the parking brake icon will most likely not work on the US-sold Minis unless your car is bought from another continent.
